Description:

We are seeking an experienced and energetic Senior Tax Manager to lead the Company’s efforts for ensuring compliance with International, federal, state, and local tax regulations. This is a new role at Payscale that will have the ability to shape the direction of the tax function as the Company continues to expand its operations domestically and globally.

What You’ll Do:

• Prepare annual global income tax provision calculations and disclosures, including communication with internal teams and external auditors.
• Manage global income tax compliance and documentation of tax positions.
• Respond to and resolve tax inquiries, notices, audits from different tax authorities, including federal income tax, state income tax, state sales and use tax, VAT, GST, and foreign income taxes.
• Ensure the timely filing of sales/use tax, VAT, GST, B&O, and other gross receipts taxes.
• Reconcile tax accounts and ensure accurate tax reporting in financial statements.
• Identify significant tax challenges and opportunities related to the company’s operations, including research and development of solutions/strategies.
• Identify and implement process improvements and procedures for the tax function.
• Review and provide guidance to accounting staff on tax-related close reconciliations.

Qualifications

Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/taxation or equivalent.
• Minimum of 7 years of directly related tax experience, preferably with a mix of public and private sector experience.
• CPA certification is preferred.
• Experience working for a SaaS company is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of ASC 740, income tax laws, and research skills for tax issues.
• Critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to discern alternatives, make objective recommendations, and collaborate with other business groups.
• Excellent communication skills for dealing with internal and external stakeholders, including management.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $114,200 - $171,200, excluding benefits or bonuses. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus of 10%. Final salary will be determined based on skills, education, and experience, considering internal equity and future growth potential. We offer a comprehensive benefits package detailed below.

Location

Payscale has a remote-first, flexible work environment. Employees can work from home, co-working spaces, or a combination.
