Amazon seeks a Sr. Tax Analyst to join our Personal Property Tax compliance team in Arlington, VA. You will work across data centers, fulfillment centers, and offices, supporting multi-state property tax audits and filings with a focus on accuracy and timely reporting.

You will prepare workpapers, coordinate with jurisdictions, maintain tax databases, and help develop GenAI workflows to streamline processes while collaborating with internal stakeholders across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field.
  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of workpapers and support for Personal Property Tax audits.
  • Collaborate with taxing jurisdictions through full audit cycle.
  • Review value notices for personal and real property portfolios.
  • Assist with property tax payments and returns.
  • Maintain and enhance the personal property tax database.
  • Update internal process documents and identify process improvements.
  • Support internal reporting and tax projects directed by management.

Job description

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Tax Analyst to join our Personal Property Tax compliance team. This individual will be a key member of the team and will have exposure to Amazon’s various business activities including data centers, fulfillment/distribution centers, logistics, administrative offices, and multiple subsidiaries across the United States.

Key job responsibilities
  • Preparation of all workpapers and support for Amazon’s Personal Property Tax audits
  • Collaboration with taxing jurisdictions through full audit cycle
  • Obtaining and reviewing value notices for both personal and real property tax portfolios
  • Assisting team with the property tax payments and returns
  • Assisting with the maintenance and enhancement of the personal property tax database
  • Updating and maintaining internal property tax process documents
  • Identifying areas for improvement within assigned role and responsibilities
  • Supporting internal reporting and other tax projects and initiatives as directed by management
  • Creating and maintaining GenAI workflows to improve processes

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field
  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Experience in a dynamic environment with a high degree of customer service
  • Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
  • Experience with multi-state, multi-entity corporate structures
  • Experience with property tax related software such as ITAM or PTMS

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
