The Sr. Tax Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Company’s indirect tax compliance, reporting, and research functions. This position is responsible for reviewing and preparing complex sales/use and property tax filings, conducting technical tax research, supporting audits and process improvements, and partnering with internal stakeholders and external advisors to help ensure accurate, timely, and compliant tax operations.

Review and/or prepare sales/use tax returns, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely filing across jurisdictions.
Oversee exemption certificate processes and resolve complex documentation issues.
Identify and mitigate exposure risks related to indirect taxes.
Prepare personal property tax returns, review valuation notices, and process tax payments.
Support railcar ad valorem filings, including return preparation and notice review.
Conduct and document technical research on complex indirect tax issues.
Interpret regulations and provide clear, actionable recommendations to management.
Serve as a subject matter expert for sales/use and property tax matters.
Review tax-related journal entries and ensure proper accounting treatment of indirect taxes.
Support financial reporting processes and ensure alignment with internal controls.
Lead initiatives to improve tax processes, enhance internal controls, and automate workflows.
Identify opportunities to reduce risk and improve efficiency across the tax function.
Lead or play a significant role in audits, system implementations, and cross-functional projects.
Act as primary point of contact for external advisors and taxing authorities on routine matters.
Partner with operations, accounting, and finance teams to address tax implications of business activities.
The following generally describes requirements to successfully perform the assigned duties.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
3–6+ years of relevant experience in sales/use or property tax compliance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required.
Experience with property tax software (e.g., PTMS) is a plus.
Advanced analytical and technical research capabilities.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and operate independently.
Detail-oriented with strong review and quality control capabilities.
