About The Role

As a Systems Engineer, you will research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify, and improve cutting-edge products and services. You will develop complex system architectures and lead system-level ownership throughout the product lifecycle.

Sierra Space seeks a Sr Systems Engineer - Program Protection Mission Cyber Lead to join our Defense team. You will lead the development of advanced system solutions in space protection, using MBSE tools to develop requirements, architectures, and concepts of operation.

This role involves developing and implementing program processes to mitigate risks, identifying threats, monitoring space assets, and assessing mission effectiveness. You will support Sierra Space's Defense portfolio, working on space-based infrared surveillance systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing, managing, and implementing program processes to mitigate risks.
• Identifying and analyzing threats for current and future space capabilities.
• Monitoring space assets for operational awareness.
• Developing assessments for mission detection and effectiveness.

About You

We seek those who Dare to Dream and meet the following minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience; Master's preferred.
• Typically 10+ years of related experience.
• Expertise in Systems Engineering principles and lifecycle management.
• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred qualifications include an active Top Secret clearance with SCI, experience with MBSE, advanced degrees, and extensive experience with requirements management and system integration.

Physical and Working Conditions

• Regular walking, sitting, standing, climbing stairs.
• Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.
• Rare outdoor exposure, fumes, or loud noises.

This position requires an active Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.
