DUTIES:
- Serve as the subject matter expert/lead technical resource for current and future Kontoor’s hybrid-cloud and distributed infrastructure related platforms and components to support multiple, parallel projects and global IT initiative while maintaining reliability, performance, and ensuring best practices are implemented to sure-up Kontoor’s business.
- Collaborate with application analysts, solution architects, and IT system owners to provide oversight and consultation during technical design, build, test and operational phases including active issue management and resolution of Kontoor’s global hybrid cloud infrastructure landscape (such as compute, storage, HA, security, data protection and disaster recovery capabilities).
- Peer review of technical solution designs to ensure consistency with Kontoor’s Global IT Standards and strategic alignments.
- Research trends in technologies; determines and propose trends and technologies applicable to optimizing and advancing Kontoor IT and business capabilities.
- In conjunction with the services vendors, perform/supervise day-to-day administration and operations of functional areas of responsibility (e.g., monitoring and troubleshooting of the hybrid infrastructure systems, respond to system’s problems, systems tuning and capacity management, etc.) utilizing Kontoor’s enterprise standards process, procedures and leveraging industry best practices.
- Work directly with vendor resources to achieve project goals and provide ongoing support of the system.
- In conjunction with the services vendors evaluate, plan, install, configure, and deploy related hybrid-cloud infrastructure technology components, patches, systems upgrades, client copies, systems refreshes and/or enhancements across existing and future Kontoor hybrid infrastructure landscape as required from lower environments (Sandbox, Dev, Test, QA, Pre-Prod) to production and disaster recovery environment. Participate in design sessions of technical infrastructure & cloud processes, integrate solutions into existing infrastructure and continuous improvement of standards, processes, procedure across the function area of responsibility. Review, validate, develop technical designs, prototypes, process designs, testing, training, and definition of support procedures for systems deployment in Cloud/On-Prem infrastructure(s). Assist with change control, incident response, testing and validate infrastructure changes or problems across the hybrid-cloud infrastructure and distributed environment. Provide regular communication to Kontoor IT management and leadership team on internal team initiatives, Infrastructure related projects, and other work assignments. Develop and maintain appropriate documentation for architecture, design, implementation, standard operating procedures, and testing activities. Prepare formal project documentation, including specifications, requirements summaries, logical system design documents, state diagrams, and test scripts. Build, develop, and grow business relationships with users, within Kontoor Global IT Infrastructure/Application/Security and with partner and vendors.
- Work with internal and external Infrastructure and Networking teams to provide support for both current and future Kontoor’s hybrid-cloud datacenter landscapes.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree* in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field followed by 10 years of progressively responsible systems engineering or systems development with large scale solutioning and implementation experience OR Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree* in Computer Science or related technical field and 8 years of progressively responsible systems engineering or systems development with large scale solutioning and implementation experience.
Qualified candidate must also possess:
- 8 Years Enterprise IT industry experience which includes experience with each of the following:
- large-scale global IT operation,
- design,
- implementation,
- migrations,
- transformations,
- deployment rollout including broad experience with driving IT platform architecture/design/administration,
- service management and IT governance/control processes
- 8 Years of Progressive experience working with at least 3 of the following functional technology areas:
- Hybrid-cloud technologies supporting and maintain a global hybrid datacenter with Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure;
- Microsoft Windows hybrid domain infrastructure environment, including all Server versions since 2012, SQL Server, Office 365, Exchange online, SharePoint, and all forms of Active Directory and DNS services;
- Hyper-Converged Infrastructure and datacenter virtualization;
- Enterprise database, analytic and reporting platforms – SQL, Azure SQL Services, and Azure DataFactory (including SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, ETL, Power BI, Oracle, mySQL, MogoDB, DB2 and Informix, etc.);
- Enterprise hybrid-cloud Data backup, recovery, and SAN storage technologies;
- Enterprise Modern End User Computing platform technologies for virtual desktop, hosted desktop/applications, & application packaging/delivery;
- UNIX/Linux/AS400 domain infrastructure environment, including IBM Power Series hardware, AIX v6.2 – v7.2, RedHat Enterprise & SUSE Linux, IBM System i AS400 systems.
- 5 Years’ experience with each of the following:
- Infrastructure orchestration and automation (Infrastructure-as-Code, Configuration-as-Code) for provisioning and management of on-premises infrastructure, Azure hosted Infrastructure-as-a-Service and Platform-as-a-Service capabilities (Azure) including virtual networks, virtual machines, and data services;
- Agile IT framework, CI/CD platforms and tools such as Azure DevOps, Pipeline, Git, Puppet, Chef, or Ansible;
- Scripting and automating Infrastructure and cloud platforms using scripting languages, tools, and management of script libraries such as Azure PowerShell, PowerShell, Azure ARM, Python, Bash, Ansible, or Broadcom (CA) Automic;
- Networking, TCP/IP, routers, load balancers and XML gateway devices, including IPv4, IPv6, SFTP, SSH, PKI, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTPS, etc.

100% telecommuting; may be performed from anywhere in NC within commuting distance to the office and authorization from management. Up to 15% domestic and/or international travel.
