The Motorola Solutions team comprises Sales, Project Management, Systems Engineering and System Technologist personnel working in a high performance culture with demanding cycle times and high customer expectations as we deploy mission critical communication systems.

Many systems are designed around APCO Project 25 standards, with interfaces to other critical subsystems. With data services growth, some customers’ mobile networks are enhanced with LTE connectivity, leveraging applications and live mobile video, supplementing traditional core voice and narrow-band data networks.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer presentations
• System staging
• Complete system documentation
• Live system upgrades
• Ensuring the integrity of the architecture/design

Individuals will perform field engineering duties during a radio system upgrade cycle. They will upgrade/deploy devices including network gear, Windows-based devices, virtual machines and Motorola proprietary devices. They will serve as a customer-facing technical resource during the upgrade and will primarily travel to mid-Atlantic states customer locations.

Specific Knowledge/Skills

• Experience/knowledge in radio communication systems, radio propagation, RF, wireless or broadband/LTE (highly desirable)
• Experience with IP networking, network design methodologies & troubleshooting (Ethernet, TCP/IP, L2/L3, MPLS) (highly desirable)
• Certifications through CompTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA-Junos, Nokia NRS1, CCNA or similar (highly desirable)
• Experience with Juniper, Aviat, Cisco, Nokia/Alcatel, Xtreme, Ceragon (highly desirable)
• Experience working directly with end-user customers (essential)
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex topics to nontechnical audiences (essential)

50-60% travel is required for upgrade projects.

Salary & Benefits

Target Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $150,000 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide pay transparency information. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Basic Requirements

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, IT or Networking; or 5+ years of Engineering or Wireless Communications experience required.
• Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident with the ability to obtain a background clearance as required by our government customers.
