Job description

Job ID: 2864241 | Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC

Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

The Role:
Be part of Project Kuiper’s sub-team responsible for defining and implementing the digital chip SOCs for communications via Low Earth Orbit satellites and Amazon gateways. This is a unique opportunity to define a groundbreaking wireless solution with no legacy constraints. The team works with customer requirements and wireless system teams to define modems, high-speed interfaces, embedded processors, and DSP solutions in the latest CMOS generation technologies.

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key Job Responsibilities
  1. Deploy and optimize AWS services based ASIC EDA environments for 300 engineers
  2. Design, set up and maintain test fixtures to verify software on real hardware
  3. Write software and scripts for operations to keep things running and highly available
  4. Troubleshoot software and hardware problems with pre-production equipment
  5. Contribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation, solving complex technical challenges around developer and engineering productivity and velocity especially as it relates to rapid test iteration
  6. Design and build advanced automated build, test and release infrastructure
  7. Drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability
A Day in the Life

The successful applicant will be experienced in keeping technical infrastructure running smoothly and balancing high priority issues. You should be comfortable taking on ambiguous challenges like setting up new pre-production hardware for the first time. You should be able to define runbooks, standard operating procedures, metrics and alarms to keep equipment and test infrastructure highly available and expand the team's capabilities over time. You will be invaluable to enabling the team to move quickly and confidently with robust verification frameworks that scale with our systems.
