Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is seeking a Sr. Systems Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing. You will define processes, ensure hardware/software compatibility, and contribute to system architectures across multiple products.

Remote work is possible. Travel is not required. Qualifications include a Master’s degree in a related field and skills in Python, GPU architecture, and Git.

Job Role and Responsibility:

AMD, Inc. is hiring Sr. Systems Design Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Design a complete and complex framework, system or product. Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility. Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes. Identify, analyze and resolve system design weaknesses. Influence the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems. Provide multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.
