Job summary

TECHEAD is seeking a Sr Systems Analyst for an on-site contract-to-hire role in Norfolk, VA. The position focuses on systems administration, operations, and maintaining enterprise IT systems to support COP and DoD missions.

Candidates should have a IT-related degree with several years of systems engineering/administration experience, experience with VMware vSphere, Hyper‑V, and Linux, and must hold active TS/SCI clearance with DoD/Cybersecurity familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field with 6+ years of progressive systems engineering/administration experience or equivalent
• Associates degree in an IT-related field with 8+ years of experience or
• High School Diploma with 12+ years of hands-on IT systems administration experience in lieu of a degree
• Active Top Secret / SCI security clearance and CompTIA Security+ CE or higher certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide systems administration, operations, and maintenance support for enterprise IT systems within the specified AOR
• Maintain systems to support COP and enterprise data streams for DoD missions
• Develop and maintain SOPs, process guides, and runbooks
• Provide 24×7 on-call technical escalation for mission-critical systems
• Support server administration, storage virtualization, and Linux-based infrastructure on classified networks
• Ensure continuous security compliance with DISA STIGs and DoD cybersecurity mandates

Job Details:

Title: Sr Systems Analyst

Job Responsibilities

• Provide systems administration, operations, and maintenance support for enterprise and operational IT systems within the CTF-80 Area of Responsibility (AOR).
• Maintain systems utilized to provide the Common Operational Picture (COP) and enterprise data streams in support of U.S. Northern Command and Homeland Defense missions.
• Develop, update, and maintain process guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and operational runbooks.
• Provide 24×7 on-call technical and operational escalation support for mission-critical command systems.
• Support server administration, storage virtualization, and Linux-based infrastructure operating across classified networks.
• Ensure all managed systems maintain continuous security compliance with DISA STIGs and DoD cybersecurity mandates.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelors Degree in an IT-related field + 6 years of progressive systems engineering/administration experience; OR
• Associates Degree in an IT-related field + 8 years of experience; OR
• High School Diploma / Equivalent + 12 years of hands‑on IT systems administration experience in lieu of a degree.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge and hands‑on experience with server and storage virtualization, specifically VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper‑V.
• In-depth knowledge and experience maintaining, patching, and troubleshooting Linux servers (RHEL/CentOS) and associated core network services.
• In-depth knowledge of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) published STIG requirements, implementation processes, and cybersecurity compliance frameworks.
• Experience operating within classified Navy or DoD enterprise network environments.

Clearance & Certifications

• Clearance: Active Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance.
• Certification: Active CompTIA Security+ CE (or higher DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II certification).
