Job summary

SNC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead requirements engineering, systems integration, V&V, and MBSE for advanced ISR and SAOC initiatives in the Plano, Texas area. You will oversee complex analyses, architecture reviews, and lifecycle activities while guiding a multi-disciplinary team.

You will collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to ensure timely, cost-efficient delivery of high-performance defense solutions and provide mentorship to emerging engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or related field.
• Expert proficiency with systems modeling and simulation tools.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience with MBSE and architecture development.

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will exhibit expert-level skills in requirements engineering, systems integration, Verification & Validation (V&V), and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). You will oversee and lead complex system and decision analysis, technical planning, and risk management activities. You will be responsible for major project deliverables, leveraging deep knowledge in architecture/design development, technical monitoring, and lifecycle management. Responsibilities:

• Exhibit expert-level skills in requirements engineering, systems integration, V&V, and MBSE.
• Oversee and lead complex system and decision analysis, technical planning, and risk management activities.
• Analyze and review Software Architectures to meet system and hardware level requirements.
• Understand different Software Architectures and be able to modify, recommend, and correct proposed Architectures for a "best fit" approach at a minimal cost.
• Manage major project deliverables and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Leverage deep knowledge in architecture/design development, technical monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Provide strong leadership and effective communication.
• Mentor and guide team members.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or related field.
• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Expert proficiency with Systems modeling and simulation tools.
• Proven leadership experience in systems engineering.
• Demonstrated knowledge of multiple Engineering principles and practices.
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
• Thorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and V&V principles.
• Experience with software testing best practices
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong configuration management skills
• Experience with Windows Active Directory
• Experience with Virtual Machines, containers, and hypervisors
• Working knowledge of software concepts, including programming languages, software architecture, and development methodologies
• Background in hardware and software integration in lab or operational environment
• Experience working with subcontractors/vendors during development and delivery of a product

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Extensive background in assessing and addressing Aerospace and Defense System Complexity and System Integration challenges
• Experience leading a multi-disciplinary team through system baseline definition and maturation exercises in a complex development setting
• Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
• Thorough understanding of establishing, tracking, and addressing key programmatic risks
• Experience creating and executing regression test / acceptance test for hardware and software
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and specifications
• Previous Experiences with authoring CDRS and SDRL deliverables

• Ability to work on a computer
