Meet the team:

The Sr. Software Test Development Engineer validates software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products including firmware, apps, and server platform. Develops, modifies, and executes software test plans and test protocols and automated test scripts, and performs risk assessments. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action. Consults with software development engineers in resolution of problems. Responsible for training junior engineers for the tasks required to complete and be a mentor to support engineers’ growth.

Where you come in:

  • Technically lead the team to design, develop, execute, and maintain product E2E automated tests to test the software/firmware integrations in Dexcom CGM systems.
  • Use AI systems to complete the test development and execution in fast pace with the quality of the test coverage.
  • Develop and maintain CICT for Dexcom E2E test suite.
  • Record and track issues in the bug tracking system.
  • Analyze failures and collaborate with development teams to ensure root cause is investigated.
  • Review software and system requirements and design specifications.
  • Modify test protocols based on requirements changes and execute regression validation accordingly.
  • Create requirements traceability matrices which demonstrate test coverage of all features.
  • Follow internal software development, cybersecurity, and validation procedures that comply with medical and security regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What makes you successful:

  • Minimum of 5 years of software development or software test development related experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of programming experience with OOP languages such as JAVA, Python, and Ruby.
  • Proven experience in software testing and related areas of software quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of source code management, such as Git.
  • Knowledge of Android and/or iOS devices, including debugging, installation, and configuration.
  • Knowledge of API-based testing for the server communications.
  • Familiarity with a network debugging tool, such as Charles Proxy.
  • Excellent oral communication skills for interfacing with peers in internal/external departments.
  • Strong written skills and ability to follow Dexcom software procedures and generate required software documentation.
  • Software development or test experience in medical device industry is a plus.
  • Knowledge of xCode and Android Studio/ADB interface is a plus.

Experience and Education Requirements:

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 5-8 years related experience or Master’s degree and 2-5 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 0-2 years experience.

Flex Workplace: Your primary location will be a home office. You will not have an assigned workstation and will work with your manager to determine office visit needs. You must live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km).
