Job summary

Gilead is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Specialist to support global clinical supply chain activities for IMP. The role focuses on translating study requirements into supply planning, inventory, and distribution strategies across Foster City, CA or Parsippany, NJ.

The ideal candidate will have experience in forecasting, packaging, depot inventory, and cross-functional collaboration, with a strong command of SAP/ERP and QMS tools and a solid GMP/GxP compliance mindset.

Qualifications

• BS/BA with 6+ years of relevant experience or MA/MBA with 4+ years or MA/MBA with 2+ years, as applicable.
• Experience in clinical supply planning, forecasting, and distribution.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret protocols for IMP demand and supply planning, distributions, and depot inventory.
• Translate forecasts into packaging, labeling, and resupply needs.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to execute plans and resolve issues.
• Maintain inventory visibility, depot reconciliation, and CAPA-related activities.
• Use SAP/ERP and QMS tools; support budgeting and contracting documents.
• Draft/update SOPs and training materials; ensure regulatory readiness and GMP/GxP compliance.
• Analyze processes and drive improvements; mentor less experienced colleagues.

Senior Supply Chain Specialist (Foster City, CA or Parsippany, NJ)

Supports global clinical supply chain activities for Gilead clinical trials by translating study requirements into supply planning, inventory, distribution, and operational execution for investigational medicinal products (IMP).

Specific Job Responsibilities

• Interpret clinical study protocols/dosing assumptions for IMP demand planning, supply planning, distribution strategy, depot inventory, and execution plans.
• Translate forecasts into packaging, labeling, depot, site seeding, and resupply needs.
• Partner cross-functionally and with external partners to execute plans, resolve shipment/supply issues, and elevate risks.
• Maintain inventory visibility; support depot reconciliation; monitor incidents; assist with root cause, trend reporting, and CAPA.
• Execute using Gilead systems/tools (SAP, IVRS/IRT, QMS, etc.).
• Support review/reconciliation of contracts, quotes, POs, invoices, MT requests, and other documents impacting budgets/timelines.
• Author/update/support SOPs, work instructions, documentation, training, regulatory/inspection readiness, clinical study reports, and TMF deliverables as applicable.
• Ensure adherence to GDP/GMP/GxP, global trade compliance, SOPs, safe work practices, and required training.
• Analyze processes/performance and contribute to improvements; assist with project planning and tracking deliverables.
• May provide technical support/training to less experienced colleagues.

Basic Qualifications

• 6+ years relevant experience with BS/BA; or 4+ years with MA/MBA/MS; or 2+ years with MA/MBA.

Preferred Experience/Skills

• Clinical supply management (forecasting, demand/supply planning, distribution, IVRS/IRT, ERP, depot inventory).
• Clinical trial designs/blinding, global trials; experience across phases.
• Collaboration/influence/communication with cross-functional and external teams.
• Ambiguity handling, solving moderately complex problems, practical solutioning.
• Strong communication, planning, organization, and project coordination.
• Proficiency in SAP/ERP, IVRS/IRT, QMS, Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, databases.
• Knowledge of GMP, GDP, GxP, global trade compliance, SOPs, controlled documentation, inspection readiness.

Compensation/Benefits (if applicable)

• Salary range: Bay Area $117,895–$152,570; Other US locations $107,185–$138,710. May be eligible for discretionary annual bonus, stock-based long-term incentives, paid time off, and medical/dental/vision/life insurance.
