Job description

In this role, you will be part of the team that ensures AWS's supply chain can deliver the datacenter racks, servers, and networking equipment to our datacenters across the globe. The rest of the supply chain looks to us to clear strategic problems and "enable" them to focus on execution. We are the jack-of-all-trades with the best understanding of how the entire end-to-end supply chain works and how to help it run better.

This is a senior-level Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) role, responsible for build ing and executing AWS's Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) program and serves as the vital tactical link to our centralized corporate Trade, Tax, and Compliance organizations. This is a high-judgment role, where you will represent the AWS supply chain during engagements with public sector customers, and must be able to translate customer and regulatory requirements into actionable deliverables, determine what is a true requirement versus a nice-to-have, and understand how to find the balance between cybersecurity and business objectives.

The ideal candidate is a technically savvy individual leader, capable of leveraging AWS's internal business and artificial intelligence tool to gather data and identify risks before they become problems, as well as interact with both internal and external senior leaders to gain support for new initiatives and obtain consensus with AWS customers.

You will be responsible for identifying, creating, and delivering on your initiatives and must have both excellent interpersonal and writing skills to work across myriad teams in the supply chain, security, and legal organizations to deliver results in an ambiguous operating environment. It will be your responsibility to ensure the supply chain delivers on our security and risk management commitments to our customers, as well as make sure region build and operational teams are able to get the infrastructure hardware they need when they need it.

This position requires that the selected candidate already be a U.S. citizen and, after starting, obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Key job responsibilities
  • Driving consensus and standardization for acceptable levels of risk and best practices across supply chain operations
  • Developing technical solutions that drive automation at scale to ensure datacenter infrastructure is delivered on-time, in-full
  • Proactively working with other organizations to anticipate gaps between teams, processes, and system architectures, influencing where no formal reporting structures exist
  • Articulating in writing (actual papers, not slides) key issues and strategic initiatives for senior leadership
  • Acting as a thought and business leader in the field of cybersecurity, supply chain risk management, and supply chain operations
A day in the life

You are at the intersection of the Venn diagram for security, operations, and risk management, and thus work with a variety of different stakeholders. You will primarily focus on addressing supply chain security and risk concerns for U.S.-based public sector customers to allow the supply chain to operate smoothly, but the team supports our global footprint and you will collaborate with international peers to drive standardization and scalable practices across the global supply chain.

About the team

Our team has the greatest end-to-end view and understanding of AWS's supply chain and sits at the center of the Venn diagram of supply chain security, operations, and risk management. We build bridges with both internal and external customers across those different disciplines to find the right balance between them.

Amazon values diverse experiences, and our team is no different. You will join a team with members in different countries, backgrounds, and perspectives.
