Job summary

Lucid Motors seeks a Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer for Chassis Systems to drive quality across supplier development from design through mass production. You will lead APQP/PPAP activities, ensure DFM/A considerations, and coordinate with Design, Purchasing, and Manufacturing teams worldwide to protect Lucid’s chassis programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing or assembly plant environments within Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, R&D, or Manufacturing Engineering. Automotive industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with industrialization of chassis components and development of parts/process maturity through APQP and PPAP.
  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on APQP and PPAP project management.
  • Proficiency in reading schematics and drawings; deep knowledge of chassis quality standards.
  • Understanding of product quality lifecycle stages and quality gates.
  • Strong analytical, technical writing, and quality tool mastery (IATF 16949, VDA, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, DOE, DFM/A, GD&T, 8D, 5 Whys).
  • Proven collaboration, data-driven problem solving, adaptability, and clear communication.
  • Willingness to travel 25-75% as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and improve the APQP process with suppliers from the initial design stage through PPAP submission and the start of mass production.
  • Lead design review and ensure manufacturing needs (DFM/A) for Chassis systems commodities are considered in the design phase and that proper quality expectations are defined.
  • Be responsible for driving and tracking all Tier suppliers Engineering Design Change activities.
  • Work cross functional with Design Engineering, Purchasing, New Projects Implementation, Plant level Manufacturing, Incoming Quality, Material Planning and Plant SQEs to ensure the proper development of the chassis components and protection of Lucid plants and final customers.
  • Perform supplier assessments, audits and site inspections for sourcing; develop process improvement plans and drive implementation; monitor and maintain performance metrics.
  • Have ability to travel 25-75% on average on short/long-term basis to Lucid Motors and supplier sites globally.
  • Document processes and compliance with ISO9001, VDA and AIAG/ IATF16949 industry standards.
  • Analyze data from supplier and assembly plant builds to assess capability of meeting requirements to comply with quality requirements.

Lucid is seeking a Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer, Chassis Systems - to drive best-in-class product quality throughout the development process. This high-visibility role demands technical expertise, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to excel in a complex, fast-paced environment.


To be successful in this role, you must possess deep technical expertise in implementing quality and reliability best practices, driving innovation, and ensuring product validation. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional performance, leadership, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, determined, and has a proven track record in quality program management, preferably within the automotive industry. The Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer position will play a key role in developing Chassis Systems at supplier sites to ensure the success of the Lucid programs.


YOU WILL:


  • Develop, manage, and improve the APQP process with suppliers from the initial design stage through PPAP submission and the start of mass production.

YOU BRING:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Industrial Engineering or related field.

  • Experience working with the industrialization of chassis components and develop the maturity of parts and processes through quality tools such as APQP and PPAP.

  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on APQP and PPAP project management.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and drawings. In-depth knowledge of chassis quality standards and specifications.

  • Comprehensive understanding of product quality lifecycle stages and associated quality gates.

  • Comprehensive analytical skills, technical writing proficiency, and mastery of quality tools (IATF 16949, VDA, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, DOE, DFM/A, GD&T, 8D, 5 Whys, etc.).

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively, leverage data, and innovate solutions.

  • Demonstrated adaptability, positive attitude, and a strong problem-solving orientation.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on timely delivery.


Preferred:


  • Master’s degree in engineering.

  • Certifications - American Society for Quality, Six Sigma Black Belt, etc.
