Lucid Motors in Southfield, MI is seeking a Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer in Chassis Systems to drive best-in-class quality across the development process. You will lead APQP/PPAP activities with external suppliers and ensure manufacturing readiness for chassis components.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years in high-volume manufacturing or assembly with Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, R&D, or Manufacturing Engineering; automotive experience preferred.
  • Experience with chassis component industrialization and maturity of parts through quality tools such as APQP and PPAP.
  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on APQP and PPAP project management.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and drawings; knowledge of chassis quality standards.
  • Understanding of product quality lifecycle stages and quality gates.
  • Analytical skills, strong technical writing; mastery of quality tools (IATF 16949, VDA, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, DOE, DFM/A, GD&T, 8D, 5 Whys).
  • Proven ability to collaborate, leverage data, and innovate solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and improve APQP process with suppliers from initial design through PPAP and start of mass production.
  • Lead design reviews and ensure manufacturing needs (DFM/A) are considered in the design phase and that quality expectations are defined.
  • Be responsible for driving and tracking all Tier suppliers' Engineering Design Change activities.
  • Work cross-functional with Design Engineering, Purchasing, New Projects Implementation, Plant Manufacturing, Incoming Quality, Material Planning and Plant SQEs to ensure proper development of chassis components and protect Lucid plants and customers.
  • Perform supplier assessments, audits and site inspections for sourcing; develop process improvements and drive implementation; monitor and maintain performance metrics.
  • Have ability to travel 25-75% to Lucid Motors and supplier sites globally on short notice.
  • Document processes and compliance with ISO9001, VDA and AIAG/IATF16949 standards.
  • Analyze data from supplier and assembly plant builds to assess capability of meeting requirements to comply with quality requirements.

Sr. Supplier Industrialization Engineer – Chassis Systems

Lucid is seeking a Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer in Chassis Systems to drive best‑in‑class product quality throughout the development process. This high‑visibility role demands technical expertise, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to excel in a complex, fast‑paced environment. The Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer collaborates with cross‑functional teams and suppliers to balance design innovation with robust manufacturing for optimal quality.

To be successful in this role, you must possess deep technical expertise in implementing quality and reliability best practices, driving innovation, and ensuring product validation. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional performance, leadership, and the ability to excel in a fast‑paced environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, determined, and has a proven track record in quality program management within the automotive industry. The position will play a key role in developing chassis systems at supplier sites to ensure the success of the Lucid programs.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, manage, and improve the APQP process with suppliers from the initial design stage through PPAP submission and the start of mass production.
  • Lead design review and ensure manufacturing needs (DFM/A) for Chassis systems commodities are considered in the design phase and that proper quality expectations are defined.
  • Be responsible for driving and tracking all Tier suppliers Engineering Design Change activities.
  • Work cross‑functional with Design Engineering, Purchasing, New Projects Implementation, Plant level Manufacturing, Incoming Quality, Material Planning and Plant SQEs to ensure the proper development of the chassis components as well as making sure Lucid plants and final customers are protected.
  • Perform supplier assessments, audits and site inspections for sourcing; develop process improvement plans and drive implementation; monitor and maintain performance metrics.
  • Have ability to travel 25‑75% on average on a short term or long‑term basis to Lucid Motors and supplier sites globally on a short notice.
  • Document processes and compliance with ISO9001, VDA and AIAG/IATF16949 industry standards.
  • Analyze data from supplier and assembly plant builds to assess capability of meeting requirements to comply with quality requirements.
You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in high‑volume manufacturing or assembly plant environments within Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, R&D, or Manufacturing Engineering. Automotive industry experience preferred.
  • Experience working with the industrialization of chassis components and develop the maturity of parts and processes through quality tools such as APQP and PPAP.
  • Minimum 6 years of hands‑on APQP and PPAP project management.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and drawings. In‑depth knowledge of chassis quality standards and specifications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of product quality lifecycle stages and associated quality gates.
  • Comprehensive analytical skills, technical writing proficiency, and mastery of quality tools (IATF 16949, VDA, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, DOE, DFM/A, GD&T, 8D, 5 Whys, etc.).
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively, leverage data, and innovate solutions.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, positive attitude, and a strong problem‑solving orientation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on timely delivery.
Preferred
  • Certifications – American Society for Quality, Six Sigma Black Belt, etc.
