Qualifications

Position Summary:
  • The Senior Supervisor of Manufacturing will supervise Manufacturing personnel and processes for an assigned area to meet Ergotron’s Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity targets. Typical areas in scope may include: Sub-assembly and Final assembly line(s). The Senior Supervisor may lead one or more Manufacturing Leaders
Position Responsibilities:
  • Supervises the manufacture and assembly of Ergotron products, ensuring safety, quality, lead-time/delivery, and productivity/cost standards are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Recruits, selects, onboards, trains, and mentors Assemblers. Assigns resources by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action. Helps the Manager maintain a culture accountable to goals, objectives, and regulatory compliance.
  • Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. Escalation contact for employee performance concerns.
  • Follows production plan for personnel to accomplish work results. Enforce priorities, monitor progress, revise schedules, resolve problems, and report results to Manager.
  • Supports site specific QMS initiatives for continuous process improvement. This would include Managing Daily Improvement metrics and Lean improvement projects.
  • Ensure a healthy and safe working environment, and compliance with federal and state regulations, through leadership of the facilities, environmental, health, and safety staff. Audit personnel on documented processes and the use of all equipment.
  • Contribute to the development of long-range goals, expansion plans, annual budgets, and the implementation of new and advanced technology for our products and processes.
  • Support development and use of facility business continuity and crisis management plans.
  • Regularly audit processes, suggest equipment layout changes, and justify needed capital improvements to ensure sufficient capacity. Support related equipment justification, purchase, installation, qualification, and maintenance. Develop and adjust production schedules and mix of permanent staffing and contractors as needed to meet customer demand.
  • Help maintain culture accountable to goals, objectives, and regulatory compliance. Lead, mentor, and develop the Assembler staff to drive a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Coach Assemblers and Leads for future growth.
  • Ensure compliance with company-wide standard operating procedures (SOPs) and develop and implement local SOPs/processes/procedures where possible and needed.
  • May assist in Production and manage weekends if required.
  • Additional duties as requested.
Position Requirements (Knowledge and Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years experience managing resources in a Manufacturing/Assembly environment. Lean training including 5S, root cause analysis, kanban systems, problem solving, gemba walks, kaizen events and experience leading teams through manufacturing change is required.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively and interact with cross-functional team members and peers and employees of all levels. Proven leader of junior and growing teams who can mentor and grow personnel within operations.
  • Creative and process thinker with good analytical skills. Must be organized and methodical, able to manage multiple simultaneous goals, have good problem-solving skills, be self-motivated and proactive. Must demonstrate the ability to create, set, and achieve operations initiatives that align with organizational goals in a fast-paced and nimble environment.
  • A track record of achievement, meeting/exceeding goals, and driving results is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), Oracle and Salesforce.
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job as described to you for the position.
  • Ability to grow in the organization.
