RTX is seeking a Sr. Supervisor, Facilities – HVAC for the Marlborough, MA campus. The role focuses on leading HVAC/Mechanical systems maintenance, supervising a team of 6 direct reports and 45 trades, and covering after-hours on-call rotations.

The ideal candidate will oversee system evaluations, drive cost-effective solutions, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Responsibilities include supervising employees or contractors who construct, maintain, and repair utilities

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in HVAC and mechanical systems maintenance and installations.
• 5+ years’ leadership experience in the trades.
• 3+ years’ experience in building infrastructure and reading schematics/blueprints.
• Current Massachusetts HVAC license and knowledge of MA building codes.
• Eligibility to obtain/maintain a security clearance; U.S. citizens preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to trades personnel and supervision of HVAC/Mechanical systems evaluations.
• Lead evaluations and provide recommendations based on cost, schedule, and regulations.
• Provide technical support to Management and teammates.
• Perform work with minimal direction and coordinate with team, Management, Security, EHS, and stakeholders.
• Cover off hours, winter weather events, and rotation of supervision for all trades.

RTX has a First Shift opening for a Sr. Supervisor, Facilities – HVAC (Sr. Supervisor, Facilities) role in the Marlborough, MA campus.

Responsibilities include supervising employees or outside contractors who construct, maintain, and repair utilities systems, buildings, and equipment. Primary focus is on HVAC, but will, on occasion provide some supervision for Millwrights, Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Sheet Metal, Janitorial and general maintenance. Required to cover off hours, winter weather events, and supervise all trades on a rotation shared with other members of the Team.

What You Will Do

• Provide technical support to Management and Teammates,
• Provide leadership and supervision to trades personnel.
• Lead HVAC/Mechanical system evaluations and provide recommendations to Senior Management based on cost, schedule, and State, Federal regulations.
• Provide team leadership based on technical knowledge and ability to routinely develop cost effective solutions over a range of complex issues while ensuring solutions are innovative and consistent with organizational goals and objectives.
• Perform work with minimal direction, communicate and collaborate well with team members, Management, Security, EHS, internal customers, and the bargaining unit.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in all aspects of HVAC and Mechanical systems maintenance and installations including Building Management Systems and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities or related discipline or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling on lieu of degree
• 5+ years’ leadership experience in the trades area
• 3+ years’ experience in building infrastructure and technology, reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints.
• Current Massachusetts HVAC license
• Knowledge of Massachusetts and National Building codes.
• This position requires the eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Masters Plumbers License
• Current Massachusetts Sheet Metal license
• Experience consulting with management on building maintenance and construction issues.
