Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 8+ years of professional structural engineering experience
  • Registered Professional Engineer; able to register in additional states
  • Proficient with CAD: AutoCad, Revit, MicroStation, S3D
  • Proficient with structural analysis: RISA or STAAD
  • Knowledge of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, AIST Tech Report 13, and related design codes
  • Knowledge of Building Codes
  • MS Office and MS Teams for remote coordination
  • Willingness to travel 10–20%

As a Senior Structural Engineer professional based within our Advanced Manufacturing team, you’ll work on a variety of projects related to Data Centers, including new builds, retrofits, colocations, etc. You will be performing various aspects of structural engineering assignments, subsequently increasing the depth and breadth of familiarity with design methods and tools.

You’ll be a key asset, contributing to, working with a diverse team of engineers and designers on various size capital projects. You’ll liaise with other internal professionals and design departments for project delivery and coordinate designs with other Jacobs offices both domestic and international.

You’ll have the opportunity to grow technically and professionally as you gain more experience and expand your leadership role within the organization.

Other key contributions
  • Performing a variety of analysis
  • Creating computer models for structures
  • Performing calculations for member designs and foundations, material take-offs for estimating, preparation of miscellaneous calculations, assisting with schedules, etc.

Here’s what you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 8 or more years of professional experience in structural engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer with the ability to become registered in additional states
  • Knowledge of CAD software, such as AutoCad, Revit, MicroStation and S3D
  • Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA or STAAD
  • Knowledge and application of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, AIST Technical Report 13, and other industry relevant design code and standards
  • Knowledge and application of Building Codes
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite software including MS Teams for remote coordination
  • Ability for travel to various client’s sites (approx. 10% to 20% travel)
Ideally, you’ll also have
  • Master of Science in Engineering
  • Experience with industrial metals projects including casting and rolling operations or similar heavy industrial projects
  • Ability to lead teams to deliver commitments on schedule and on budget while meeting quality and client expectations

The base salary range for this position is $132,900.00 to $182,700.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
