Job summary

NV5, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Structural Engineer for our Building Design Group in Saint Paul, MN. The role is hybrid, combining hands-on structural design with coordination of multiple projects, budgets, and client communications.

You will leverage software like ETABS, RISA, RAM, Enercalc and Revit to deliver high-quality construction documents and seismic evaluations. A PE license and 8+ years of experience are preferred, with potential for growth and leadership within the team.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil/Structural Eng; MS preferred.
• PE license required.
• 8+ years of structural design experience (Concrete/Steel/Masonry/Wood).
• Proficiency in ETABS, RISA, RAM Structural System, RAM Elements, RAM Concept, Enercalc, Excel.
• Revit modeling and drawings preferred.
• Experience with seismic evaluations per ASCE 41 a plus.

Responsibilities

As our Sr. Structural Engineer,you will be hands-on with technical design of buildings projects, oversee multiple projects simultaneously including budgeting, scheduling, and client management & communication, and attend project sites and client meetings.

• Collaborate with teams of engineers and architects to complete project deliverables.
• Coordinate design work with other engineering and architectural disciplines.
• Meet client expectations for budget and schedule while delivering a quality product.
• Increase proficiency in relevant design, modeling, and analysis software applications such as Revit, ETABS, RISA, RAM Structural System, RAM Elements, RAM Concept, Enercalc, Excel, SteelSmart, and Simpson CFS Designer.
• Increase your knowledge of local codes and industry standards.
• Assist with budget estimates and write-ups for proposals.

Qualifications

We are seeking the following experience and qualifications:

• B.S. Degree in Civil, Structural Engineering, M.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering is preferred.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• 8+ years of relevant structural engineering design experience (Concrete, Steel, Masonry, Wood).
• Technical skills: Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., ETABS, RISA, RAM Structural System, RAM Elements, RAM Concept, Enercalc, Excel).
• Revit experience including modeling and producing construction drawings is preferred.
• Experience with seismic evaluations and retrofits per ASCE 41 a plus.
