Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Design Group in Portland, OR is seeking a Sr. Structural Designer to join our team of professionals.

You will develop structural 3D models, create construction documents in AutoCAD and Revit, and support capital projects across food & beverage, pharma, and industrial facilities. With a minimum of ten years' experience, you will mentor staff, help standardize Revit templates, and coordinate BIM with engineers and BIM managers.

Qualifications

• A minimum of ten years of structural designer experience with industrial structural design.
• Proficiency in 3D BIM software (Revit, Navisworks), AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
• Experience in the structural design of facilities for the food/beverage, pharma/life science, or consumer products industries (preferred).
• Willingness to travel for project requirements including site inspection, installation and start-up activities, client and company meetings.

Responsibilities

• Work with designers and licensed engineers to create and assemble a complete set of structural design documents.
• Develop structural 3D models of new and existing building facilities using Revit (LOD-300).
• Create construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Help develop structural team Revit drafting standards, best practices, and update Revit templates.
• Attend project BIM coordination meetings to assist with clash detection across disciplines.
• Perform BIM quality checks and fill out QMS checklists for project BIM work.
