We’re looking for a Sr. Staff Technical Program Manager with experience leading programs focused on operational excellence, site availability, or system reliability to join our Zero Trust Exchange (ZTE) Platform team. In this role, you will build our central Availability program, establishing the source of truth for system health through synthetic monitoring and operational reviews. You will own the end-to-end program that ensures our services meet the highest standards of performance. You are passionate about using measurement to drive transformation. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Engineering, you will be responsible for:

  • Owning and leading the cross-functional Availability program from strategy to execution, including defining service-level objectives and managing the reliability roadmap
  • Driving the technical implementation and automation of synthetic monitoring frameworks and operational health metrics
  • Running regular Operational Health Review meetings with senior leadership, translating data into actionable insights and accountability
  • Acting as the central point of contact for operational health and influencing engineering teams to adopt standardized practices
  • Working collaboratively to overcome data fragmentation and establish a unified “single pane of glass” for availability’’

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • 8+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, Site Reliability Engineering, or a similar technical leadership role in a large-scale, distributed systems environment
  • At least 3 years of direct experience leading programs focused on operational excellence, site availability, or system reliability
  • Hands-on experience with observability tooling (Datadog, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar)
  • Deep understanding of SRE concepts including SLOs, SLIs, and synthetic monitoring

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Ability to write scripts or prototypes for automation using languages such as Python or Go
  • Experience with advanced data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker) or chaos engineering platforms (e.g., Gremlin)
  • Cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and/or Kubernetes certifications

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range

$140,000 - $200,000 USD
