Meet the team

Dexcom is hiring for a Senior Staff Software Development Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA. In this position, you will be defining architecture as well as define and guide the process of architecture development, and software development to help improve the lives of people with diabetes. You will be joining a well-established company that’s on an upward growth trajectory.

Where you come in

1. You will advise on technical issues of a complex system.
2. You’ll provide input on direction for key strategic decisions.
3. We’ll rely on you to suggest and develop new techniques and procedures to improve design process and products.
4. You’ll define, resolve, manage, and/or optimize tradeoffs between conflicting requirements.
5. Design new software architectures and identify/manage associated interfaces.
6. You’ll identify, track, and actively reduce technical, project, and business risks.
7. You will understand regulatory standards for medical equipment and develop strategies and plans for implementing them within technology development and product commercialization efforts.

What makes you successful

1. You have proven history of mobile development with several commercial apps available on an app store.
2. You have experience working in Agile teams & using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
3. You have experience using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, Github Actions, Artifactory.
4. You have experience with version control tools such as Git, Github, Gitlab, Bitbucket and GitFlow.
5. You have working knowledge of design patterns such as MVC, MVVM, MVP.
6. You have experience in the use of Bluetooth Wireless Technology.

Experience and Education

• Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 13+ years related experience or a Masters degree and 8+ years equivalent industry experience of a PhD and 5+ years of experience.

Exempt Salary Details

The annual base salary range for this role is $149,000.00 to $248,300.00. Final compensation package will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, business needs and market demand.

Workplace Mode

Your location will be a home office; you are not required to live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km). If you reside within commuting distance of a Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km) a hybrid working environment may be available. Ask about our Flex workplace option.
