Job summary

Terzo is seeking a Sr/Staff Software Engineer for the Agent Platform to design and build the core infrastructure powering autonomous AI agents, NirvanAI search, and the deployment marketplace.

You will own platform APIs, orchestration layers, and runtime systems in a cloud-native environment, collaborating with a senior engineering team to deliver reliable, scalable solutions for enterprise data and AI workflows.

The Opportunity

Terzo is building the AI platform layer that sits between structured enterprise intelligence and the people who act on it. The Financial Intelligence Graph gives our customers visibility into contracts, vendors, spend, obligations, and risk. The Agent Platform is how that intelligence becomes autonomous by powering AI agents, workflows, recommendations, and search experiences that move enterprise teams from insight to action without waiting on a human in the loop.

As a Sr/Staff Engineer on the Agent Platform team, you will design and build the core infrastructure that makes this possible. You will own the platform APIs, orchestration layers, and runtime systems that power Terzo’s AI agents, NirvanAI search, and the marketplace where customers deploy autonomous intelligence against their most critical commercial data. The services you build will be the substrate every AI-powered experience at Terzo runs on.

You might thrive in this role if you have

• 5+ years building backend systems or developer platforms in distributed, cloud-native environments
• Experience building platforms where AI capabilities are first-class primitives, not bolted-on features
• Strong API design instincts for services processing highly sensitive enterprise data
• Solid understanding of relational and non-relational data stores, data modeling, and performance optimization
• Strong backend development especially Python
• Comfortable making architectural decisions with incomplete information
• Strong product intuition where you understand why something is being built, not just how
• High ownership mentality where you treat system reliability and customer outcomes as your responsibility

You could be an especially great fit if you have

• Experience building agent orchestration systems, tool-use runtimes, or autonomous reasoning infrastructure in production
• Prior work on workflow engines, state machines, or event-driven systems coordinating long-running, multi-step processes
• Background in B2B SaaS, enterprise data platforms, or financial systems where correctness and auditability are non-negotiable
• Exposure to graph databases, knowledge graph systems, or commercial ontology modeling
• Familiarity with streaming technologies (Kafka, Azure Service Bus) or distributed compute frameworks (Ray)
• Prior work at a high-growth startup where you built platform foundations other teams shipped on top of
