Job summary

Blue Yonder in Dallas, TX is seeking a Sr Staff Software Engineer to lead architectural direction for AI platforms, guiding large-scale generative AI initiatives and advanced cloud-native microservices.

You will mentor senior engineers, shape product roadmaps with PM/UX, and optimize inference pipelines for low latency in a multi-tenant environment, with relocation to Dallas if needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (STEM preferred) and 12–15 years in software development with at least 3 years as software architect.
• Strong experience in Enterprise Python or Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing enterprise cloud solutions (Azure) in multi-cloud environments.
• Hands-on development along with architecture/design; cloud-native and multi-tenant SaaS experience.
• Experience with event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar technologies.

About The Role/Product Development Team

• We are seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer to lead a team of product engineers in designing, developing, and implementing AI-driven solutions at Blue Yonder and provide strategic technical leadership for our Generative AI initiatives.
• In this role, you'll shape the architectural direction of our AI systems, lead complex engineering challenges, and drive innovation across our technology stack.

What You’ll Do

• Establish the technical vision and architectural foundations for our generative AI platforms and products

• Mentor engineering leaders and senior engineers, elevating the technical capabilities of the organization
• Identify and solve systemic engineering challenges across model training, deployment, and monitoring
• Establish technical standards, best practices, and architectural patterns for AI engineering
• Drive technical alignment with product management & UX on roadmap and deliverables

Our Current Technical Environment

• Software/Tools: Python, GitHub, Node.js, React.js, GitHub Actions, Codacy, GitHub Advance Security, Black Duck Hub, BlazeMeter, Artifactory, Ansible, Docker, etc.
• Application Architecture: Scalable, Resilient, event driven, secure multi-tenant Microservices architecture
• Cloud Architecture: MS Azure (ARM templates, AKS, Virtue Networks, Event Hub, Azure AD)
• Frameworks/Others: Kubernetes, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Spark, NOSQL, RDBMS, Spring Boot, Snowflake

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree (STEM preferred) and minimum 12 to 15 years of experience in Software development with min of 3 years as Software Architect.
• Strong programming experience and background in Enterprise Python ( preferred) or Java, spring boot, microservices based architecture
• Demonstrable experience designing, building deploying and maintenance of enterprise cloud solutions (we use Azure) in AWS, Azure and or GCP
• Demonstrable experience with microservices based architecture on Cloud at scale.
• Experience with implementation of Event driven architecture using Kafka, Spark or similar technologies
• Hands-on development skills along with architecture/design experience; should not have moved away from software development
• Demonstrable experience, thorough knowledge and interests in Cloud native architecture, Distributed micro-services, Multi-tenant SaaS solution and Cloud Scalability, performance and High availability
• Experience with API management platforms & providing / consuming RESTful APIs
• Experience with varied tools such as Spring Boot, OAuth, REST, GraphQL, Hibernate, NoSQL, RDBMS, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, React.
• Experience with DevOps, Infrastructure as Code and infrastructure automation.
• Good Understanding of secure architectures, secure configuration, identity management, role-based access control, authentication & authorization, and data encryption.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and strategic thinking abilities.

The salary range for this position is $152,889 - $190,000.

The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
