Blue Yonder is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Azure Cloud Data Platform Team in a Dallas area hybrid role with in-office presence required. You will work on scalable, event-driven microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and cloud technologies.

The team is global and expects rapid learning and strong problem-solving abilities. We value OO and functional programming, experience with Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Snowflake, and a disciplined DevSecOps mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM and 8+ years of software development experience.
• Ability to debug and diagnose issues in complex enterprise apps.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Python, Bash, web technologies (HTML, CSS, JSON).
• Proficient in OO design and cloud concepts (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS).
• Experience with GitHub, DevSecOps practices, and security tooling.

Responsibilities

• Develop quality software following clean code principles and Blue Yonder standards.
• Participate in backlog grooming, planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Translate business requirements into user stories and tasks.
• Lead design discussions and coach teammates on best practices.
• Focus on security and industry trends while delivering scalable microservices.
• Support day-to-day operations and troubleshoot issues as needed.

Blue Yonder has the ideal opportunity for a Staff Software Engineer to join our Azure Cloud based Data Platform Team. We are seeking an individual that has a strong technical foundation in Java, REST APIs, Microservices, Cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP), Kubernetes, Kafka, Event Hubs, Elasticsearch, Snowflake

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Core responsibilities includes focusing on innovation and improving delivery effectiveness by driving product development features across the organization in software development, deployment, and infrastructure consistency.




• Provide standardized enterprise solutions for cloud infrastructure and application deployment across multiple products.




• Apply the appropriate software engineering patterns utilizing a meta-driven systems approach to build robust and scalable systems




• Expert in OO and Functional programming and the ability to apply your skills in developing Blue Yonder products.




• Influence fellow engineers by proposing software designs, providing feedback on software designs and/or implementation.




• Experienced problem-solving skills that can help the team in triaging operational issues. You will leverage your expertise in eliminating repeat occurrences.




• The team currently comprises of global associates across US, Canada, India, and Germany and is expected to grow. The incumbent will need to be a quick learner.

• Software/Tools: Java, Python, Groovy, GitHub, Node.js, React.js, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, SonarQube, Codacy, Checkmarx, GitHub Advance Security, Black Duck Hub, BlazeMeter, Artifactory, Ansible, Docker, etc.




• Application Architecture: Scalable, Resilient, event driven, secure multi-tenant Microservices architecture




• Cloud Architecture: MS Azure (ARM templates, AKS, Virtue Networks, Event Hub, Azure AD)




• Frameworks/Others: Kubernetes, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Spark, NOSQL, RDBMS, Spring Boot, Snowflake

What you'll do

• Develop quality software (including effective unit test code) according to clean code principles and Blue Yonder standards.




• Participates in team activities such as backlog grooming, planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.




• Translates business requirements to user stories and actively seeks feedback by the stakeholders.




• Takes the lead in designs of individual stories and translates the design to subtasks.




• Considers aspects of information security while coding and reviewing other's code.




• Keeps up to date with technology and research latest trends in the industry.




• Is perceived as the expert in a small designated technical area and is the go-to person for related implementational and operational issues.




• Evaluate and coach other engineers on the technical and interpersonal best-practices.




• Provide support/guidance for day to day operations/systems

What we are looking for

• Bachelor's degree (STEM preferred) and minimum 8 years of experience in Software development




• Ability to debug and diagnose issues in complex enterprise applications

Annual salary for the position is $114,103.81 - $143,896.18 USD

The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
