Ladders is seeking a Sr. Staff Lead Site Reliability Engineer in San Mateo, CA to define and drive reliability strategy for critical production services.

You will improve observability, incident response, and operational excellence while partnering with engineering teams to reduce failures and build reliability into design from the start. The role emphasizes automation, tooling, and reducing manual effort to stabilize complex environments across platforms.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in SRE, software, or infrastructure engineering.
• Proven track record in reliability of production services.
• Experience with SLI/SLOs, monitoring, and incident response.
• Familiarity with AWS or other major cloud platforms.
• Proficient in infrastructure-as-code and automation tools.
• Proficient in Python, Go, or similar for operational tooling.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across applications and networks.

For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Staff Lead Site Reliability Engineer (R5803) to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space.

This role will define and drive the reliability strategy for critical production services, with a focus on improving observability, incident response, and operational excellence. You will partner closely with engineering teams to reduce recurring failures, strengthen system resilience, and ensure reliability is built into platform and product design from the start. The position also emphasizes automation and tooling that reduce manual effort and improve the stability of complex environments.

Location: San Mateo, CA

Compensation: $220,000 – $330,000 annually
