Job summary

Palo Alto Networks in Santa Clara, CA, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to rapidly onboard and help build the User Directory product, including integrations with Active Directory, LDAP, and other identity providers. You will design and develop high-quality software across UI, backend, and test automation, owning features end to end while collaborating with product and design teams.

You will self-organize with minimal supervision and contribute to engineering standards and security practices.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science required.
• 6+ years in software development on agile teams.
• 4+ years in cloud development or enterprise applications.
• Experience with GIT/Bitbucket.
• Strong C# expertise with minimal guidance.
• Experience with Active Directory/LDAP, MFA, IAM, authentication and authorization.
• Experience with ReactJS and JavaScript preferred.
• Experience with AI agents is a plus.
• Strong OO design and reusable APIs.
• Understanding of PKI and encryption.

Job description

As a Senior Software Engineer you will quickly onboard and help build and maintain the User Directory product, which includes integrations into Active Directory, LDAP, and other external Identity Providers for user information. You will be self‑organized and able to work with minimum mentoring and supervision. You will understand customer scenarios and requirements to validate the best solutions, and design and develop high‑quality software while owning product features end to end—including UI, backend, and test automation. You will continuously raise the bar for development practices and stay abreast of the latest technologies in the company and industry, using them to good effect. You will also collaborate closely with other engineers on larger features.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer scenarios and requirements to suggest and develop innovative technical solutions and tools for the User Directory product.
• Facilitate collaboration with engineering, product management, and designers.
• Self‑organize and work with minimal mentoring and supervision.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science
• 6+ years of experience working as a software developer on agile teams
• At least 4+ years of experience in cloud development or enterprise applications
• Experience using source code management tools such as GIT, Bitbucket
• Strong C# expertise – able to get up and running with little to no guidance
• Experience with Active Directory and/or LDAP, MFA, IaaS, IAM, authentication and authorization
• Experience with ReactJS and JavaScript – nice to have
• Experience working with AI agents
• Strong object‑oriented design and coding skills and experience writing reusable, generic APIs
• Understanding of PKI, certificate security, encryption, HTTPS
• Strong programming, debugging, and troubleshooting skills
• Strong written and oral communication and collaboration skills, ability to work effectively in a team, across teams, and with management and other disciplines
• Effective team player

Compensation Disclosure

$126,000.00 – $204,500.00 per year. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of employee benefits is available.
