Job summary

UCOR seeks a capable Project Engineer for the Y-12 D&D project in Oak Ridge, TN. The engineer will prepare calculations, scopes of work, and technical reports while supporting operations, maintenance and inspections. A BS in engineering and 7+ years of experience are required; PE license is preferred.

The role may involve acting as a Project Engineer, Discipline Engineer, System Engineer or Cognizant System Engineer, with adherence to safety policies and company procedures.

Duties: This position is for a Y-12 D&D Project Engineer.

• Prepares engineeringproducts such as: calculations, specifications, scopes of work, analyses, designs and design changes, and engineering reports within the discipline.
• May be assigned as Project Engineer, Discipline Engineer, System Engineer, or Cognizant System Engineer.
• Follows procedures in the development of engineering products.
• May develop engineering products and provide expertise in the engineering discipline commensurate with grade level.
• May provide technical support in the areas of operations, maintenance, inspections and tests, and configuration management for assigned systems and components.
• Maintains timely and accurate oral and written technical reports regarding assigned engineering activities.
• Keeps proper engineering files andrecords.
• Applies industry codes and standards in development of engineering products commensurate with grade level.
• Understands and uses computer software and applications associated with engineering assignments.
• Complies with company’s safety awareness program, officeand/or field safety policies.
• Develops an understanding of therole ofeach functional area within the company.
• Conforms to company core values.
• Acts with integrity in all elements of responsibility.
• Expresses ideas clearly and listens effectively to the ideas of others.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES (FOR ALL GRADE LEVELS):

Job-Related Qualifications Required:

Education: BS in an appropriate engineering discipline from a four-year accredited college or university

Experience: 7+ years of experience required. Professional Engineer License preferred.
