Job Description Summary

Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the user's needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.

Impacts the team's ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives. The role is subject to operating policy objectives. There is moderate autonomy within the role. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Provide systems integration and requirement flowdown to preliminary design, performance, operability, controls and transient analysis disciplines.
2. Provide systems integration and requirement flowdown to fuel sub-systems, electrical sub-systems and test facility.
3. Ensure control systems tech maturation plans support a competitive next generation product offering.
4. Ensure engine and rig test plans capture tech maturation and risk burndown objectives.
5. Requirements and design integration of thermodynamic engine cycle model.
6. Requirements and design integration of FADEC control software.
7. Define and manage workscope, schedules and deliverables to ensure a successful program execution.
8. Drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level testing.
9. Manages interface between design, systems, and execution organizations.
10. Provides forward looking strategy for platforms and technology development/insertion to make product competitive.
11. Defines and provides scope management. (defines the what).
12. Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline.
13. Serves as best practice/quality resource.
14. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area.
15. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
16. Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college.
2. Minimum of 6 years of aerothermal or systems integration experience.
3. Minimum of 6 years of experience in Aerospace or equivalent industry.
4. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
5. Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain US government security clearance.

1. Master's degree from an accredited university or college.
2. Exposure to aviation engine design, SPOCT, and certification requirements.
3. 10 years of experience in design/development of turbomachinery.
