Sr. Staff Data Engineer - GenAI (Tech Lead) - Hybrid

Data, AI and Analytics Office (DAO) - Customer Data Ecosystem Operations Business Intelligence - seeks an experienced Sr. Staff Data Engineer/Technical Lead with GenAI expertise. As a Tech Lead, you will guide the team in developing Data Domains and Data Products, analyzing, and visualizing large datasets to generate insights across multiple platforms. Your responsibilities include developing Proof of Concepts (PoCs), frameworks, and real-time pipelines using SQL, AWS, ETL tools, Snowflake, and Python, with an emphasis on automation via CI/CD methodologies. You will also have opportunities to work on Machine Learning and AI initiatives.

This role requires a hybrid work schedule, with in-office presence (Hartford, CT; Chicago, IL; Columbus, OH; Charlotte, NC) three days a week (Tuesday-Thursday).

Responsibilities:
  1. Modernize and execute the transformation roadmap for the Enterprise Business Operations Billing Team, leveraging AWS, Python, and Snowflake, addressing legacy tech challenges, data freshness, and quality.
  2. Integrate and aggregate complex data from diverse sources to improve customer access and foster a data-driven culture.
  3. Implement end-to-end generative AI pipelines, from data ingestion to deployment and monitoring.
  4. Develop and optimize RAG architectures, agentic workflows, and unstructured data processing.
  5. Ensure data governance, security, and quality are incorporated into all data management practices.
  6. Develop and deploy analytical solutions using machine learning technologies.
  7. Support migration of reporting assets from legacy systems to Snowflake.
  8. Collaborate with Enterprise Data teams for UAT, data quality, and toolset enhancement.
  9. Maintain data analytics tools and frameworks supporting AI/ML use cases.
  10. Stay current with emerging data technologies and industry best practices, exploring new tools as needed.
  11. Drive multiple projects independently, demonstrating confidence and initiative.
Qualifications:
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship; no STEM OPT I-983 endorsement supported.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer with strong analytical and data manipulation skills.
  • Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, IDMC, etc.), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and SQL (Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake).
  • Proficiency in scripting/programming languages like Python or JavaScript.
  • Experience with test automation, DevOps tools, and Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers in GenAI best practices.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Tableau, Business Objects, MicroStrategy.
  • Knowledge of insurance and financial services domains.
  • Familiarity with AWS services like CodeBuild, CodePipeline, and Containers.
  • Understanding of AI, ML, and data science practices.
Compensation:

The annual base pay range is $135,040 - $202,560, based on market analysis and individual factors such as performance and competencies. Compensation may include bonuses, incentives, and recognition awards.
