Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Consulting Test Conductor to join a team in Palmdale/EAFB, CA. You will support test planning, execution and analysis in a Combined Test Force, applying engineering principles to optimize testing and interact with multiple organizations and stakeholders.

The role requires a STEM degree with substantial experience and an active DoD Secret clearance (or higher) with ongoing evaluation, plus SAP eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 14 years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 12 years, or PhD with 10 years.
• Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher) with recent background investigation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance.
• Experience in test plan and test card development, review and execution.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Consulting Test Conductor to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale/EAFB, CA. The successful candidate will participate in a collaborative environment and support Test planning, execution and analysis in a Combined Test Force (CTF) environment. The employee will apply engineering principles to optimize all aspects of Test to increase the operational effectiveness throughout the Test campaign. The position will afford the opportunity to interact internally across multiple organizations and externally with suppliers and customers. In addition, the candidate will provide expert advice and guidance to team members and valued customers regarding specific technical aspects of systems or concept development.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Independently analyzes and provides recommendations in procedures to identify and control or eliminate hazards
• Develops and evaluates systems, associated support equipment and facilities, networks and information systems to ensure designs meet applicable safety specifications and standards
• Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, test, or evaluate military weapons systems
• Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, proposals, and other technical documentation with regard to Test planning and execution
• Reviews architecture, requirements and interface artifacts for safety on complex hardware/ software systems
• Reviews Test Plans and Procedures for safety requirements verification and potential hazardous operations
• Supports mission control room operations
• Provides mentorship, training and support to junior Flight Test Engineers
• Works collaboratively with our government counterparts to support CTF process improvement and strategic initiatives

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 14 years of relevant experience OR Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of professional OR PhD in a STEM discipline with 10 years of professional.
• Must have an active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
• Must have experience in: test plan and test card development, review, and execution; experience in Mission Planning documentation and support, Control Room experience in monitoring real time data from ground or flight testing events
• Must have in-depth knowledge of aircraft subsystem design, test data requirements, and test methodologies used in the aerospace industry
• Able to support off shifts to support mission requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in military aviation Test Pilot School graduate
• Experience in a Combined Test Force environment
• Previous professional experience with mission planning, execution, and debriefing.

Primary Level Salary Range

• $175,300.00 - $262,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.

Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
