Description

Summary:

Responsible for properly performing financial activities related to the Accounting activities of the Finance Department, in accordance with established policies, procedures and controls.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Treats clients and fellow associates with courtesy and consideration at all times within public areas or staff support sections of the property
• Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts in a timely, effective manner
• Reviews and verifies accuracy of financial data
• Prepare special financial reports as needed
• Assist outside auditors when necessary
• Communicate with the CFO and department heads regarding accounting and internal control issues
• Preparejournal entries and maintain adaquate audit trails.
• Receive checks and payments for deposit
• Provides training or ad-hoc assistance to staff accountants
• Looks for ways to improve the efficiency of their work through process or system improvements
• Perform other duties as assigned
  
  

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related area from a four-year college or university; or four years related experience and/or training in General Ledger accounting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Works with a high degree of independence in performing accounting and financial activities
• Possesses a thorough knowledge of GAAP, standard office practices and procedures, and computer applications as related to the hospitality industry
• Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Ability to work with other department personnel, co-workers and management
• Pleasant personality, team oriented and enjoys working with and assisting people
• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Degree in Accounting or some formal accounting education preferred
• Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations
• Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
• Verify right to work in the United States
