The Senior Staff Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting the broader accounting function across ATP’s global operations. This role is responsible for executing complex month-end close procedures, maintaining general ledger integrity, supporting audits and tax filings, and contributing to process improvements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and skilled in GAAP compliance, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, international environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Key participant in completing timely month-end close procedures
• Prepare and post complex journal entries, including accruals, intercompany, and other closing adjustments, ensuring all entries are supported by appropriate documentation and comply with accounting standards
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data
• Support and provide backup for staff with bank reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate completion
• Possess and apply knowledge of ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 842 (Leases)
• Assist with preparation of quarterly VAT returns
• Assist with the preparation of year-end withholding statements for foreign and independent contractors (tax forms 1099s and 1042-S)
• Assist during year-end close and external audit by finalizing the financials and preparing working papers
• Create various ad hoc analyses and reports as needed, including working with CFO as assigned
• Participate and contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and operations. Participate in system implementations and upgrades as necessary.
• Provide backup support for other accounting functions as needed, ensuring continuity and coverage within the accounting department

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Required 3-5 years of overall accounting experience
• Preferred 1 year of experience in audit
• Intermediate Excel skills and the ability to apply in practical analysis techniques
• Knowledge and understanding of GAAP (General Accepted Accounting Principles)
• Knowledge and understanding of Florida Sales/Use tax assessment
• Knowledge of NetSuite accounting software and Concur Expense processing platform, or ability to learn new software fast
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people from different cultures and be considerate of their background
• Service-oriented – understands the purpose of their work and the importance of delivering a high standard of work
• Strong communication skills – understands the importance of user perspective in financial reporting and knows when to use face to face, telephone, messaging tools and e-mail to the greatest effect
• A clear understanding of the importance of confidentiality
• Organize and able to prioritize tasks in order to deliver to all stakeholders on time, every time
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to focus in the face of pressure
• Flexible approach to working within tight deadlines
• Ability to work with limited supervision while maintaining motivation and a high standard of work and having a proactive approach to responsibilities. Willingness to ask for help when under pressure or out of depth.
• Understanding or experience with UK VAT and Australian GST, a plus
• Experience with international payments/foreign currency, a plus
