Job summary

Neighborly is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant in Irving, TX. You will perform monthly close, ensure GAAP compliance, and analyze financial statements. The role requires balancing accuracy with timely reporting while collaborating with operations management.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years related industry experience.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge; ability to research, interpret, and apply technical accounting guidance.
• Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
• ERP/financial systems knowledge; project management skills a plus.
• Experience with Great Plains, Concur, Lease Accelerator, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Nortridge Loan Management Software preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required; CPA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly closing activities including journal entries, reconciliations, accrual schedules, variance analysis, and monthly reporting schedules.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Analyze financial information and prepare balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and related reports.
• Communicate with operations management to ensure transactions are recorded properly and explain fluctuations.
• Review contracts to ensure accurate and timely recording; lead acquisition integrations with footnote schedules.
• Assist in the preparation of annual audited financial statements and footnotes; tie-out supporting documentation.
• Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to promote consistency and best practices.

Ensures compliance with GAAP and Company policies and procedures Analyze financial information, detailing income, expenses, assets, and liabilities, and prepares a balance sheet, profit and loss statement, statement of cash flows, and other reports Communicate with operations management to ensure transactions are recorded appropriately.
