Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Anaheim, CA seeks a Sr. Specialist, Test Engineer to apply Electrical Engineering skills with design and project engineers to develop test processes and fixtures, maximize yield, and support product qualification.

The role includes creating automated tests, maintaining equipment, analyzing data with the Failure Review Board, mentoring staff, and travel to Gardena, CA site up to 20%. Schedule is 9/80 with every other Friday off.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience as a Test Engineer (BSEE preferred). Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience as a Test Engineer.
• 3+ years of experience creating LabVIEW or equivalent test software for Automated Test Equipment.
• 6+ years of experience with design of electrical and electronic circuits (analog, digital and FPGA) for application in Test Fixture design.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address defects, issues, and inconsistencies in the product to be tested.
• Knowledge of drawings, parts lists, engineering orders, wiring lists, diagrams, schematics and repair procedures are required.
• Extensive knowledge of related test equipment used to test power and digital systems.
• Test fixtures/hardware reverse engineering.
• Demonstrated skill in preparation of test procedures, troubleshooting complex electronic systems, and related test engineering tasks to ensure product’s performance meets customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and maintain automated test programs, fixtures, and procedures.
• Support the selection, maintenance, modernization, and replacement of test equipment, including legacy systems required to support older product lines.
• Assess legacy test equipment for obsolescence, reliability, and supportability, and recommend upgrades or replacements as needed.
• Troubleshoot and maintain test systems, fixtures, and related equipment to ensure safe, accurate, and reliable operation.
• Analyze test data and work with Engineering and the Failure Review Board to reduce failures and eliminate test escapes.
• Prepare test reports, procedures, and work instructions.
• Train manufacturing personnel in the proper use of test equipment and fixtures.
• Provide labor and material estimates for proposals and contract requirements.
• Lead test activities and teams as needed to accomplsh large qualification tasks.
• Travel and support Gardena, CA site and vendors – 20%.
• Working extended hours.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Management.

Job Description

Under limited supervision, the Test Engineer - Manufacturing is a highly motivated self-starter who applies acquired Electrical Engineering skills to work closely with design and project engineers in the development of Design for Test, Test Procedures, Test Processes, and Test Fixtures that are comprehensive, efficient, and reliable, with the goal of maximizing efficiency and increasing test yield at the system level.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $102,000- $189,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
