Job Title: Senior Specialist, Mechanical Engineer (Tool Design)

Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off

Responsibilities:

• Work with cross-functional teams to define tool requirements
• Design tooling such as jigs, fixtures, molds, mandrels, and lifting devices
• Conduct design reviews with cross-functional teams for approval
• Oversee procurement and fabrication of tooling
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers for functional evaluations and acceptance
• Support tool maintenance, identify problems, design repairs, and implement modifications

Essential Functions:

• Design using PTC Creo and Windchill
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to obtain a US security clearance
• Less than 5% travel required

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree with at least 6 years of mechanical design engineering experience, or
• Graduate Degree with up to 4 years of experience, or
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in lieu of a degree

Preferred Additional Skills:

• 3 years of experience designing tooling for manufacturing support
• 2 years of experience with solid modeling programs such as Unigraphics NX, Pro-Engineer, AutoCAD Inventor, CATIA, CREO, or SolidWorks
• Existing security clearance is a plus
• Experience in the defense industry is a plus
• Fabrication and composite wind tool design or fabrication experience are pluses
• Experience with compression mold tool design or fabrication is a plus
