  • Evaluate facilities for supply chain security risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist with audits and transactional reviews of import/export activities; document findings.
  • Support compliance and security training initiatives and material development.

Sr. Specialist, Import/Export Compliance

The Sr. Specialist, Import/Export Compliance is responsible for supporting and administering U.S. import and export compliance programs to ensure adherence to applicable trade regulations, supply chain security requirements, and corporate policies. This position works closely with the Program Manager, Import/Export Compliance and other Logistics team members to identify trade compliance risks, maintain regulatory compliance, and support business operations.

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Support Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, inventory controls, reporting, and compliance activities.
  • Determine and manage Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications for imported goods.
  • Develop, analyze, and maintain trade compliance reports utilizing SAP, ACE, ISF, and other available data sources.
  • Classify products (ECCN), software, technology, and technical data under U.S. export control regulations, including EAR and ITAR, and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Prepare export license applications, commodity jurisdiction requests, and supporting documentation for management review and government submission when required.
  • Administer export control and sanctions screening activities using Visual Compliance or other software tools.
  • Support the CTPAT program, including security risk assessments, business partner questionnaires, annual profile updates, and CBP validation preparation activities.
  • Evaluate third party and company facilities for supply chain security risks; recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist with conducting audits and transactional reviews of import and export activities; document findings and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support compliance and security training initiatives, including material development and training sessions.
  • Perform import/export compliance and security responsibilities for METUS and other affiliates.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in import/export or trade compliance roles
  • Experience with U.S. Customs regulations including Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification and trade preference programs.
  • Familiar with EAR and ITAR export regulations, including classification and licensing requirements.
  • Strong understanding of logistics, supply chain operations, and associated documentation.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, data analysis and reporting; working knowledge of Microsoft Access and other Office applications.
  • Experience with SAP, ACE, and screening software preferred.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $72,800/yr and $100,100/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions based on achieving individual performance and/or sales metrics, incentive compensation and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
