The opportunity:

The L&D Specialist oversees the training & learning processes, standards, and tools locally. The role partners with the operations team to ensure training & learning are tracked, measured, and available for Operator/Craft Certification. They will collaborate with the Division and COE Team to implement and improve learning standards and systems locally, and to measure and track training in the local LMS.

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Manage Operator and Maintenance Training annually
  • Execute and improve new hire orientation/onboarding training and on-the-job training
  • Ensure compliance training is automated, tracked, and reported through partnerships with safety, quality, and environmental teams
  • Assist with training tracking, evaluation, and measurement locally
  • Support the creation and updating of learning solutions and content
  • Administer various general training requirements for the team
  • Maintain detailed records of all training activities
  • Enhance local team performance by increasing skills and reducing time to certification
  • Serve as a key system owner to identify skill gaps and forecast future skill needs
  • Drive training efficiencies to reduce risks and training time
