Job summary

Vizient, Inc in Irving, TX is seeking a senior contracts professional to develop customized contracting strategies for complex needs, including physician and clinical preferences, purchased services and capital.

You will lead negotiations with legal, clients and suppliers, analyze proposals, identify cost savings, and ensure contract terms align with client objectives while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Summary: In this role, you will develop customized contract strategies for complex contracting needs, including physician preference, clinical preference, purchased services, and capital, to reduce spend, improve operational efficiencies, and maximize value for clients. You will independently lead complex contracting activities, analyze opportunities, collaborate with clients and suppliers, and develop recommendations that support cost savings and business objectives. You may also provide guidance to other team members.

Responsibilities

• Develop customized contract strategies and recommendations for complex contracting needs, including physician preference, clinical preference, purchased services, and capital.
• Lead negotiations with legal, clients, and suppliers to establish contract terms and conditions, build consensus, and execute agreements that meet business objectives.
• Prepare and analyze requests for proposals to evaluate options and develop contracting recommendations.
• Collaborate with internal and external clients to develop contracts that address specific requirements and complex sourcing needs.
• Identify and recommend cost‑saving initiatives for large or complex client accounts and projects using advanced knowledge of client and supplier needs.
• Analyze and interpret cost and utilization data to identify savings opportunities, recommend process improvements, and engage analytical resources as needed.
• Monitor contract compliance with terms and conditions to support achievement of anticipated cost savings and program objectives.
• Support supplier relationships by coordinating product cross‑references, in‑services, trials, and resolution of product‑related issues.
• Develop and deliver communication strategies that effectively convey recommendations, successes, opportunities, and challenges to clients and other audiences.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients, including supporting engagement with senior leaders and providing guidance to team members as needed.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree preferred.
• Business, Supply Chain, Legal Studies, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
• 5 or more years of experience in Healthcare, Clinical or Pharmacy.
• Expertise in drafting, redlining, and negotiating complex terms and conditions.
• Proven ability to lead complex negotiations.
• Strong analytical, financial, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills, which are critical for facilitating supplier discussions, clearly articulating contract changes, and ensuring alignment among internal stakeholders and clients throughout the sourcing and negotiation process.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Advanced Excel experience.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment.

Compensation and Benefits

Estimated Hiring Range: At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $88,900.00 to $155,500.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.

This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring three days per week in the office.

Office locations include Irving, TX; Chicago, IL; and Centennial, CO.

Willingness to travel.
