Job summary

Penguin Solutions seeks a Senior Solutions Architect to design and implement advanced enterprise AI/HPC solutions. You will work with cross-functional teams to align business goals with technical requirements and drive technical engagements across the sales cycle.

Bring 7+ years in technical sales, deep cloud knowledge (OpenStack, Kubernetes), DevOps, Linux, and storage expertise; travel up to 50% to support customers and opportunities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of technical sales experience with a proven close record.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% across the region.
• Deep knowledge of cloud tech including OpenStack and Kubernetes.
• DevOps expertise and Linux with cloud automation tools.
• Experience with large RFP responses and Ethernet/low-latency networking.
• Storage technologies knowledge across parallel, block, file, and object stores.

Responsibilities

• Provide in depth expertise across HPC, Cloud and AI/ML domains in the enterprise space.
• Identify, qualify and help close sales opportunities.
• Assist with technical responses to RFIs/RFPs and present product capabilities.
• Ensure customer requirements are translated into comprehensive solutions.
• Develop and deliver product presentations on architecture and design.
• Liaise with Product Management, Operations and Engineering to support sales.
• Provide Operations with requirements to build factory-integrated solutions.
• Travel to promote Penguin solutions within the assigned region.

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Solutions Architect to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and implement cutting‑edge solutions that align with business goals and technical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide in depth expertise across HPC, Cloud and AI/ML domains in the enterprise space.
• Participate in the identification, qualification and closing of sales opportunities.
• Assist with technical responses to RFIs and RFPs
• Ensure customer requirements are appropriately interpreted and contribute to the development of comprehensive solutions.
• Develop and conduct product presentations involving product capabilities, solution architecture and design.
• Serve as sales team liaison to internal technical staff such as Product Management, Operations and Engineering.
• Provide Operations team with appropriate product/cluster/network requirements and design intent to build out factory integrated solutions.
• Travel throughout the assigned sales region to perform technical sales and promote Penguin solutions vs. competitor’s solutions.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years technical sales experience, proven track record of closing sales deals
• Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to travel as needed up to 50% throughout the assigned region.
• A strong combination of the following:
  • Strong knowledge of cloud technologies including Openstack and Kubernetes
  • DevOps knowledge and experience
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and cloud automation tools (CloudFormation, ansible or similar tools)
  • Large RFP response experience
  • Design experience in Ethernet, and low latency networking, preferably with associated switch and fabric configurations.
  • Storage knowledge including parallel, block, file and object store technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS or GCP Cloud Certifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
• Strong knowledge of High Performance Computing (HPC) & cloud applications
• Data center infrastructure knowledge
• In‑depth knowledge of Linux cluster technologies and optimization techniques
• Network topologies and architecture
• File systems and Software Defined Storage e.g. Lustre, Gluster, GPFS/ESS, VAST, WekaIO, CEPH, SWIFT, Cinder

Compensation & Benefits

The total cash compensation range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in United States is $185,000 - $230,000; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on business considerations, including job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. The position is commission‑eligible, and there are medical, dental, and vision benefits available. There is a 401k saving plan and other benefits, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
