The Role:

As a Sr Solutions Architect, you will lead presales discovery, analysis, architecture design, and proposals for solutions aligned with customer outcomes and requirements through direct client engagement. You will leverage presales methodologies, technical expertise, key relationships (clients, internal stakeholders, vendor partners), and context analysis (industry, customer, technical, sales) to recommend solutions that deliver long-term value.

Travel Requirements: This position is based in Chicago, IL; Minneapolis, MN; Milwaukee, WI; or Madison, WI, with up to 30% travel within the Central Region.

Responsibilities include:

1. Understand Customer Current State: Drive discovery of the customer’s IT environment, goals, outcomes, and initiatives across Business, Technical, Operational, and Financial areas. Develop discovery approaches, lead workshops, and document findings to inform future architectures and roadmaps.
2. Technical Opportunity Leadership: Identify stakeholder success criteria, create and lead solution approaches, and coordinate technical resources. Build relationships with management and C-Level executives.
3. Solution Architecture, Design, and Documentation: Analyze requirements, determine target architecture, and develop proposals with diagrams and analysis. Engage in strategic technical discussions at all levels.
4. Technical Excellence & Evangelism: Maintain high technical standards, lead knowledge sharing, participate in technical communities, and pursue relevant certifications.
5. Account Leadership: Participate in account planning, solution summaries, and client engagement activities to establish trust and credibility.
6. Team Engagement and Culture: Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment aligned with Presidio’s core values—teamwork, execution excellence, integrity, and innovation.
7. Partner Relationships: Develop relationships with vendor teams, contribute to partner strategies, and utilize partner tools and training.
8. Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Engage in enablement and process improvement initiatives.
9. Enable and Cultivate Others: Mentor colleagues, share best practices, and support team development.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/military background
• 7+ years in systems engineering or solution architecture
• Knowledge of IT and Cloud operating models and frameworks (e.g., OSI, ITIL)
• Expertise in at least one of the following:
• Cisco switching/routing, wireless, security platforms (Palo Alto, Cisco FTD, Meraki, Fortinet), NAC (Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass), Cloud connectivity (AWS, Azure, Google), Management platforms (Cisco DNA Center, Solarwinds), SDN & virtualization (SDA)

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience with data center connectivity, security, compliance, directory services
• Industry certifications (Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, AWS, etc.)
• Experience with Aruba, Arista, Cisco Commerce tools
• Presales and complex project management experience
• Ability to lead executive-level presentations and develop proposals and statements of work
