Job summary

Presidio in Detroit, MI is seeking a Networking Solutions Architect to join the Pre‑Sales Engineering Team. You will meet with customers, gather requirements, and craft comprehensive network and security solutions including hardware, software, and services.

You will present designs, lead whiteboard sessions, and drive end‑to‑end network architectures across LAN/WAN, data center, and security domains. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in enterprise networking, plus certifications (CCDP/CCNP/CCIE)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience.
• 3+ years of enterprise class network and security solutions experience.
• CCDP/CCNP/CCIE certifications preferred.
• Experience in a VAR environment is preferred.
• Expert knowledge in complex routing and switching, firewalls, SSE/SASE, NAC, IDS/IPS, data center switching, SD-WAN, and wireless.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-level technical solutions (hardware, software, licensing, professional services).
• Collect business and technical requirements from customers.
• Complete end-to-end network designs and BOMs.
• Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations.
• Write statements of work (SoW) and assist with professional service pricing.

The Role

We are looking to add a skilled Solutions Architect to our team in the Detroit, MI area. As a member of the Pre‑Sales Engineering Team, you will be responsible for meeting with Presidio's customers, collecting requirements for business solutions related to network and security projects, and developing engineering solutions for sale to Presidio customers.

A successful Networking Solutions Architect (SA) should be able to develop, present, and educate on various network infrastructure technologies (LAN/WAN, Data Center Switching, Security, SD‑WAN) to customers, guide them through requirements gathering, and formulate a solution consisting of hardware, software, licensing, and engineering services.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and understanding of ENTERPRISE class solutions from partners such as Cisco, Palo Alto, HPE, VMware, AWS, and other network infrastructure manufacturers. Successful candidates will have a solid grasp of network design principles based on industry best practices.

Responsibilities Include:

• Develop high‑level technical solutions and present to customers (Hardware, Software, Licensing, Professional Services)
• Collect business and technical requirements
• Complete end‑to‑end, full lifecycle network designs
• Drive whiteboard conversations
• Craft customer facing presentations
• Delivering technical presentations and product demonstrations
• Generate hardware configurations (BoM) and/or work with internal teams to complete these tasks
• Write statements of work (SoW) and develop Professional Service pricing utilizing Presidio tools
• Ability to self‑pace and self‑set direction in a team environment to drive business outside of traditional networking (cloud, cyber, managed services, and digital business opportunities, etc.)
• Build relationships with Account Executive/Extended Sales Teams to develop customer rapport and solutions and assist in overall sales process
• Maintain and develop technical and technology specific skill sets and certifications

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience
• 3+ years of experience, which demonstrates a significant level of expertise in enterprise class network and security solutions.
• One or more of the following certifications: CCDP/CCNP/CCIE and other non‑Cisco certifications are highly preferred.
• Experience in a Value‑Added Reseller (VAR) environment is preferred
• Expert‑level knowledge and experience with design, implementation and support of one or more of the following is highly preferred:
• Complex routing and switching solutions (Cisco and HPE)
• Next gen firewalls/VPNs (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.)
• SSE and SASE technologies
• Network Access Control, including Cisco Identity Services Engine (preferred), Aruba ClearPass, and FortiNAC implementation, design, configuration.
• IDS/IPS solutions (Cisco, FortiGuard, Tipping Point, etc. are helpful)
• Data Center switching/segmentation solutions such as Cisco ACI, VXLAN, and VMware NSX
• SDWAN solutions such as Cisco Viptela, Meraki SDWAN, Prisma, Silver Peak, VMware Velocloud, etc.
• Cisco/Meraki, Mist, or Aruba Wireless
