Description:
An exciting opportunity for a passionate and highly skilled Senior Software QA Engineer to join a fast-paced software engineering team to support quality assurance efforts across enterprise-scale SaaS applications, contributing to the reliability, stability, and scalability of our client’s platform. You’ll work in a collaborative Agile environment, actively participating in design discussions and helping implement modern automated testing strategies.
This role offers the potential for extension or conversion to a full-time permanent role for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with cross-disciplinary teams to shape and execute testing strategies throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
  • Build and deploy robust, scalable automated test solutions leveraging Ruby and Selenium-based tools.
  • Continuously refine and support automation frameworks to align with CI pipelines and rapid release cycles.
  • Create detailed test plans for complex initiatives, aligning technical objectives with business goals.
  • Engage in Agile activities such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, contributing a strong quality perspective.
  • Drive initiatives aimed at optimizing QA processes and improving product reliability and team productivity.
  • Offer guidance and mentorship on automation practices, encouraging a culture of continuous quality improvement.
  • Champion quality throughout the development cycle by embedding testing considerations from the initial design phase through to deployment.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in software testing and test automation, with strong hands-on involvement.
  • Expertise in automation using Ruby, Selenium, and similar testing tools.
  • Strong grasp of modern web application architectures and RESTful API testing.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and communication abilities.
  • Proven track record of contributing effectively within Agile teams and cross-functional environments.
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in both code and processes.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Cucumber or other Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks.
  • Understanding of CI/CD practices and exposure to DevOps tools and workflows.
  • Previous involvement in mentoring and knowledge-sharing within QA or development teams.
