Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer in Laurel, MD, with TS/SCI clearance with poly, to design, develop, and deploy high-performance web visualizations and dashboards.

You will work with data scientists and engineers to deliver scalable visualization solutions using JavaScript/TypeScript in React or similar frameworks, and you will build robust pipelines and CI/CD processes to ensure production readiness.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• 14+ years of software engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or an additional 4 years of relevant software engineering experience in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-performance, interactive data visualizations and dashboards using modern web technologies.
• Develop DOM-based (e.g., D3, SVG) and rendering-based (e.g., Canvas, WebGL, WebGPU) visualizations based on use case and performance needs. Write clean, scalable code using JavaScript and/or TypeScript within frameworks such as React, Solid, or jQuery.
• Structure and manipulate data using JSON to support dynamic, real-time visualization requirements.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive test coverage, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to support automated testing, integration, and deployment.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain web applications in production environments, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Partner closely with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to translate complex data into intuitive visual experiences.
• Clearly communicate technical concepts, tradeoffs, and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Design and Development

Required Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• 14+ years of software engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope, scale, and complexity.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or an additional 4 years of relevant software engineering experience in lieu of a degree.

Technical Requirements

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, with experience building scalable, maintainable applications.
• Experience developing web applications using modern frameworks such as Flask, Django, or Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with data pipelines and data processing tools, including ingestion, transformation, and integration of large datasets.

Professional Skills

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams, including engineers, data scientists, and product stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual\u2019s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
