Job summary

DriveCentric, Inc. is seeking an exceptional software engineer to lead the Dealer Management System Service/Scheduling/F&I team. You will drive end-to-end integrations, architect scalable solutions, and mentor engineers while aligning with leadership on OKRs.

You will balance hands-on coding with people leadership, working on data synchronization across CDK, Reynolds, DealerTrack and other DMS platforms, leveraging AI tooling and modern design patterns.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of full-stack software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with third-party APIs.
• 2+ years of experience leading technical teams.
• Senior-level expertise in C# .NET, APIs, SQL, MS SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
• Strong experience with cloud-native architectures and microservices.
• Familiarity with data transfer protocols (HTTPS, SFTP) and formats (JSON, XML, CSV).
• Experience mentoring engineers and communicating with product, customers, and partners.

Responsibilities:

• Perform as a technical contributor 60% of the time, with 20% focus on personnel management, and 20% on maturing our DMS integration practice.
• Architect and build scalable integration solutions processing hundreds of thousands of daily transactions across multiple DMS platforms.
• Own an integration end to end: vendor API client, event contracts, data mapping, mock endpoints, test plan, staged rollout, production monitoring, vendor certifications, and compliance.
• Develop code primarily with AI tooling using spec-driven development.
• Solve complex distributed systems challenges, including data consistency, error recovery, circuit breaking, and real-time bidirectional synchronization.
• Ensure reliable data synchronization with DMSes (CDK, Reynolds, DealerTrack, and others), maintaining vendor certifications and compliance requirements.
• Establish and maintain engineering excellence standards for DMS integrations, including data reliability, error handling, monitoring, logging, security compliance, and event replay capabilities.
• Lead the vision for your team's area of responsibility and align with Sr. Leadership through OKR planning and execution.
• Provide technical ownership for your team's contributions to meet engineering standards, project requirements, and quality expectations.
• Mentor team members through monthly touchpoints, performance reviews, and professional development planning.
• Develop cross-training matrices and enforce documentation standards to guarantee that at least two team members can perform each critical function, eliminating knowledge silos.
• Keep architecture diagrams and integration documentation accurate.
• Collaborate with other team leads in DMS space on shared artifacts and repositories

Requirements:

• 7+ years of full-stack software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience with third‑party APIs.
• 2+ years of experience leading technical teams.
• Demonstrate senior‑level expertise in C# .NET, APIs, SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
• Strong experience with cloud-native architectures.
• Working knowledge of data transfer protocols (HTTPS, SFTP) and exchange formats (JSON, XML, CSV).
• Working knowledge of OOP and modern design patterns.
• Experience with microservice and event‑driven architecture. You've built and debugged systems where components communicate asynchronously.
• Ability to balance business and technical objectives when making decisions.
• Act as a technical communicator for prospective, new, and established integration partners, ensuring clarity in requirements, capabilities, and issue resolution.
• Experience mentoring and developing other engineers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work effectively with product, engineering, and customers; internal and external.
• Experience working alongside AI coding agents on production codebases.

Pluses:

• Experience with automotive DMS platforms (CDK, Reynolds, DealerTrack) or automotive retail operations.
• Hands‑on experience with .NET 10+ and Kafka.
