Requirements
Must have:
- We require a bachelors degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with at least 4 years of related experience; in lieu of a degree, we accept 10 years of directly related experience.
- We expect 9+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 8+ years developing C/C++ applications.
- We require 5 years of experience with Tactical Data Links such as Link 16 and JREAP-C.
- We need the ability to obtain a secret clearance, and this role requires an active DoD Secret clearance.
- We look for strong experience with Linux and Windows operating systems for day-to-day development work.
- We value a solid understanding of software delivery methods such as Waterfall and Agile/Scrum.
- We require proficiency with configuration management and development tools such as Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, and Artifactory.
- We need the ability to travel.
- Preferred skills include knowledge of Tactical Data Links, Makefiles, embedded build tools, CI/CD, Groovy, Jenkins, C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, DevExpress, and DoD software standards.
- Preferred leadership experience includes 4 years managing small to mid-sized software teams.
Responsibilities:
- We lead and architect software development for Windows and Linux applications built in C/C++. We develop multi-threaded codebases that manage multiple socket connections. We build software from Interface Control Documents and specification documents. We define coding standards, design patterns, and automated analysis and testing pipelines that strengthen memory safety. We promote modern programming practices, tools, and frameworks across the team. We collaborate with systems engineering, cybersecurity, testing, and integration teams to maintain requirements traceability and compliance. We mentor and technically guide the software engineering team to support secure, modern, and maintainable code. We contribute to internal technical discussions and help shape the long-term vision for TDL Support Products. We serve as the main technical point of contact for stakeholders, government customers, and leadership on compliance status and risk reduction. We brief executives and government stakeholders on technical subjects. We participate in daily software development activities on Linux and Windows systems, including command-line work.
