Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Engineer to join our Sales Performance Management (SPM) team, focusing on the design, development, and optimization of the SAP Callidus (SAP Commissions) platform. This role serves as the technical cornerstone of our commissions system, ensuring it is scalable, high-performing, and deeply integrated with our enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with SAP Callidus (Commissions, Workflow, Reporting & Dashboards), capable of leading a team of developers while partnering closely with architects, business stakeholders, and IT counterparts. You’ll be instrumental in driving system enhancements, improving data flow, and ensuring accurate and timely commission payouts in a high-impact environment.

As the SPM Development Lead, you will play a critical role in delivering a seamless, efficient, and secure commissions platform. Your contributions will directly support sales effectiveness, ensure accurate and timely payouts, and enable scalable incentive strategies that drive business growth. This is more than a technical role — it’s a strategic position that bridges technology and business to drive high-impact results.

Job Description

Technical Leadership & Solution Development

  • Lead the development and enhancement of SAP Callidus components, including commissions rules, workflows, reporting, and dashboards.
  • Perform hands-on configuration and scripting within Commissions, Workflow, and Reporting modules.
  • Drive continuous improvement of compensation processes, system automation, and operational efficiencies.
  • Optimize commission processing performance, ensuring scalable, reusable, and efficient design.
  • Define and promote best practices for coding, testing, deployment, and performance monitoring.
  • Support the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of the SAP Callidus Commissions platform.
  • Support end-to-end sales commission processing, ensuring timely and accurate calculations, adjustments, and reporting.
  • Translate sales compensation plan designs into system rules and workflows.
  • Proactively monitor and resolve system and compensation-related issues, exceptions, and disputes.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy by implementing data validation and reconciliation processes.
  • Manage system enhancements, defects, integrations, and platform upgrades.
  • Act as the technical escalation point for complex platform issues.

System Integration & Data Management

  • Oversee integration with upstream source systems such as CRM (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics), ERP (e.g., Oracle Fusion), and HRIS (e.g., Workday).
  • Design and implement ETL pipelines and APIs to support accurate and timely data flow into the commissions system.
  • Automate critical processes such as dispute resolution and quota adjustments.

Architecture & Performance Optimization

  • Partner with solution architects to define and align on the platform’s technical roadmap.
  • Conduct system tuning, monitor rule execution, and implement logging frameworks.
  • Ensure the platform adheres to scalability, security, and compliance standards.

Project Delivery & Agile Execution

  • Drive full development lifecycle, from requirements to deployment and post-production support.
  • Work closely with product managers and QA teams using Agile practices (Scrum, CI/CD).

Compliance, Security, & Risk Management

  • Ensure development aligns with SOX compliance, internal controls, and security standards.
  • Manage access controls, role-based permissions, and audit requirements within the platform.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate data inconsistencies and system risks.
