Join a fast-paced, collaborative team dedicated to building custom software and integrations that drive innovation in healthcare and genetic testing. As a senior engineer, you’ll take ownership of full-stack development projects, shape technical solutions, and contribute to architectural decisions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence product direction, and build systems that make a real-world impact on patient outcomes and scientific discovery. This is a remote role (PST hours preferred), with the option to work hybrid from Aliso Viejo, CA.

Accountabilities:

  • Design and develop scalable software solutions using PHP, MVC frameworks (preferably Symfony), and modern frontend technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with QA engineers, systems analysts, and stakeholders to deliver high-value features in agile sprints.
  • Participate in scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily standups.
  • Review and provide constructive feedback on peer code submissions; implement feedback from your own reviews.
  • Work directly with stakeholders to understand workflows, gather requirements, and propose enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, monitor logs, and contribute to system reliability and performance improvements.
  • Support ticket curation and technical documentation to ensure alignment across business and engineering teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with PHP development in professional settings; 7+ preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of MVC frameworks like Symfony (preferred) or Laravel.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frontend frameworks such as ReactJS.
  • Proficient in relational databases (e.g., MySQL) with ability to write and optimize complex queries.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases like MongoDB and structured data formats (JSON, XML, CSV).
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs, web services, and Docker containerization.
  • Ability to interpret functional requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Bonus points for experience in Java (Spring Boot), AWS cloud services, and regulatory environments (HIPAA, SOX).
  • Competitive base salary: $110,000–$135,000 annually.
  • Performance-based Short-Term Incentive Plan (target: 7.5% of annual earnings).
  • Flexible remote work (PST preferred) or hybrid option from Aliso Viejo, CA.
  • Comprehensive health coverage: medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • 401(k) plan with company match and financial wellness support.
  • Generous PTO, paid sick leave, and holiday policies.
  • Inclusive and collaborative culture with strong learning and growth opportunities.
  • Equal opportunity employer embracing diversity and second-chance employment policies.
