Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Mossville, IL seeks a Senior Positioning and Controls Engineer to advance state estimators and control algorithms for Grade Control products, using Simulink models and C++ on real-time hardware.

You will collaborate with software developers, validation engineers and product managers, perform simulations, develop automated tests, and document designs while delivering robust, high-accuracy positioning solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience with Matlab/Simulink and C++ in real-time embedded systems.
• Knowledge of Kalman filtering and state estimation techniques.
• Familiarity with sensing technologies (IMU, GNSS, laser receivers, UTS).

Responsibilities

• Develop positioning and control algorithms for a system using Simulink models and C++ software.

The Senior Positioning and Controls Engineer is responsible for the development and test of the positioning state estimator and control algorithm used in Grade Control products.
