The CrowdStrike Malware Research Center (MRC) is central to Falcon’s malware detection and response capabilities. The team focuses on understanding the threat landscape and defining what Falcon should identify and prevent. The MRC also assesses our capabilities, especially our machine learning and behavioral protection, to identify gaps and improve our detection and protection strategies. Collaborating across CrowdStrike, the MRC ensures we provide the best protection against current threats.

About The Role

This is a Senior Software Engineer position within the CrowdStrike MRC Platform team. The team develops tools, background services, and API-based micro-services that enhance threat analysis, detection, and identification in Falcon. These systems support other teams in Research & Development and Data Science. The engineer will coordinate with leadership, plan, and oversee project execution to improve our products, demonstrating problem-solving skills and engineering excellence.

What You'll Need

• Experience in one or more high-level programming languages (Python, Go, Rust, etc.)
• Strong understanding of AWS and related technologies
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Ansible, Pulumi, or Terraform
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
• Experience automating workflows and building pipelines with micro-services and APIs
• Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, Cassandra, ElasticSearch
• Good software engineering practices, including coding standards, source control, documentation, and supportability
• Ability to understand requirements across the organization and prioritize accordingly
• Experience scaling backend systems (sharding, partitioning, horizontal scaling)
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, multi-threading, and parallel processing
• Willingness to learn new technologies and languages
• Strong problem-solving skills in distributed environments
• Experience with DevOps tools like Chef, Terraform, Kubernetes
• Proficiency with Linux
• Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework

Nice to Have Skills

• Familiarity with Windows and Mac platforms
• Experience with UI technologies like AngularJS or ReactJS
• Knowledge of security best practices for microservices
• Experience with Kanban development methodologies

This role requires periodic background and fingerprint checks in line with government client requirements.
